Also of note, the CCB on the Blackwing is the Gen3 from Brembo. They claim it's a 'lifetime wear item'.


Under normal use, it'll never need to be replaced. On track it is supposed to be 3x's more durable than the Gen1.

For serious track use I dont think the "lifetime wear" claim will prove to be true, I've heard Porsche PCCBs fail and if modern CCBs were so durable why would many track addicts swap their F 488, McLaren 720/765 CCBs for Girodisc iron rotors?

If your CCBs wear out or fail, the replacement cost will be shocking.

All of the CCB's you just mentioned are Gen1 or Gen2. And the pricing on those has come WAY down. The ZR1 rotors can be had for $1,200/ea. Way better than the $5k when they were introduced.


Supposedly this new construction is more like the brakes in aviation and holds up to high temp use better. No way to tell until more units get into circulation. It is the same system being used in the C8Z CCB.


FYI - I'm biased because I got them on my Blackwing.
