GM Supplier Discount

I qualify for the GM supplier discount.
Question is, the website indicates as I option my build, it’s around 3-4% off MSRP.

Does that sound correct for those who used this discount once the Dealer placed the actual order?

I did find 2 dealers in Charlotte who will participate in the program.

On my 2023 2SS 1LE build the MSRP is $56775 and the supplier discount is $2292. Basically just enough to cover the 2023 price increase.

IF you can find a dealer that will use this your lucky! None of them around here will honor that.

Does the discounted price come out of the dealer's profit?
Or does GM reimburse the dealer the value of what the discount was?

Dealer participation in the employee/family/supplier discount programs is completely voluntary, and many dealers have "suspended" participatin over the past couple years.

3-5% of MSRP is about what I'd anticipate for the supplier discount. Not great, but better than MSRP or MSRP+.

There are a lot of shady dealers out there and I wouldn't be completely surprised if the dealer says "We're not participating in that program anymore" once the vehicle is on the lot and you're in the showroom ready to sign papers.

I've been in the automotive industry for 20 years and have used these types plans with Ford, Stellantis/Chrysler and now most likely GM.

When my prior purchase agreements were written it is sent to Corporate for approval prior to the point of sale. Proof of eligibility is provided and approved.

This is all documented within the terms and conditions ie. contract, and they would be in breach of contract if they took a path such as reneging after the fact.

To avoid giving them an out, a 23 is a must order at this time of year as they could say the 22's are sold out and no longer available, then the terms could be rescinded as it was based on a 22.

I see. If they are getting the money back on the back-end, what would the dealer's reasons be for not participating?

I had the option to use it but the dealers were being pains about things. I didn't even bother asking the dealer I am buying from this time.

I ordered my car from Hendrick City Chevrolet on Independence Blvd, they honored employee pricing with no ADM. I ordered in Aug 2021 and it was delivered Feb 2022. Let me know if you'd like the cell # for the sales person I had.

In 1981 I bought my 1st Car, a Camaro from City Chevrolet in Charlotte. Rick was a car salesman back in those days.
I remember that day walking the lot picking out my color. I went with Maroon tan interior.

Sure, let me know your contact as their allocations may be better than Parks Chevrolet in the Lake Norman area I’ve been speaking with.

They told me it takes 6 months or more to get reimbursed, (not sure how true that is) so the dealers have the option of refusing the discount, they told me they can just sell it to the next guy because there were 10 more ppl in line to buy the car I ordered. Needless to say I will never buy a car from them again, and this was my 3rd car from that dealership.

When I put my order in they said they wouldn't take it but gave me 200 off MSRP, but this was before 2023 pricing was available. I'm going to try again once my order is delivered since the price went up.

It was explained to me that the dealer covers 1/2 the discount and GM the other. I couldn’t find any dealers that would honor it either.
