Get these installed, or unncessary?

I mentioned this in my other thread but I think they got lost in the shuffle over there.

I found these parts in my trunk. I had purchased the car as it came off the trailer, so I think they felt rushed to get the car into my hands. When I found them and called the sales guy, he said it was missed and to bring the car back in. He then called back and said that his tech said these parts aren't needed unless I'm taking the car on a track. I posted in one of the zl1 facebook groups and the guys are split as to whether or not these should be on my non-track base zl1. Should I have them install these or am I better off leaving them in the garage?

I think that's the skid flap that goes under the nose of the bumper

Install them and take off the one's on the left and right front,Those are for gas mileage. If you end them throwing them in the garbage I can pay for shipping if you don't mind shipping them. I'm on my second set already due to scuffing.

Mainly for the track. The rubber front piece would help prevent damage when scrapping low driveways I would think, and it looks cool. I just put all of them on for a track day Saturday. Not good if it rains to have them on tho.

Why would it be bad to have them on in the rain? What is their function?

Can you elaborate? I'm getting all sorts of different info on what these actually do - from aero to cooling to protecting from scrapes to be completely unnecessary.

Your owners manual will get the answers you need..... I'm too tired and lazy to crack mine open even though it's on my night stand. Do your homework fella, it's in there, just can't remember if it's to be taken off when tracking or on. Either way, I'd put them on..it's helped with steep driveways or times I didn't take the correct approach.

Yes 5 pieces should have been installed during PDI for street use (2 tire deflectors on each side and the center chevron). The 4 curved tire deflectors are removed and 2 short straight pieces are added to the center chevron for track use.

See also: https://www.chevrolet.com/bypass/pcf..._2022APR07.pdf

Page 15 right panel shows the 5 "street" pieces in grey that should have been installed during PDI on the car. The two short straight "track" pieces and their 6 fasteners are shown in black.

You might want to check to see if the dealership removed the spacers from the front coils.

Keep those orange spacers JBones. They can be useful if you ever have to have a flatbed tow to keep from tearing up the front splitter.
