My Chevrolet App
Sup Team,
Anyone use this app or rely on it for anything? So I hadn't driven my 2022 for a nice drive in 2 weeks so this last weekend I washer her and took her for a lil romp but only 13 miles one way. Anyway, I noticed when I opened my door when the car was off, it wasn't cutting power to the radio. I thought it was due to an update that I ignored but not sure. I drove the car another 13 miles back home and the same shit kept happening. I have a tracker that advises me of certain parameters and the voltage seemed low to me. 12.0 prior to drive and 12.2 after (vehicle off). The car didn't indicate any low battery but when I checked my Chevrolet app and it ran its diagnostic check, a bunch of items called for service soon. 4 to 5. I drove her some more and all seemed back in check. Drove her again and I noticed the issue would pop up when I would turn off the car and didn't have the door open, when I typically have the door open and power would be killed immediately Anyway, wouldn't the car let me know if the battery was low? The last drive/ last check everything was fine and now wondering if my battery is not getting enough charge due to shorter trips. The voltage would go up to 14 when I would hammer it but then go back down. Thoughts? I have a tender that I could throw on but don't want to bandaid a bad battery when I could get it replaced under warranty. Yes I plan to drive her more... |

Just remember most (possibly all) GM products use an alternator which does not charge continuously and will allow battery voltage while running to save fuel. This intermittent feature reduces parasitic drag when battery charging isn't necessary. So, don't freak out if you see nearly battery voltage while running 12.0-12.3v is typical or 14.4v while charging.

I searched the radio issue and the consensus was it needed to be updated. When I tried to manually update in the setting it stated vehicle conditions didn't allow for an update. What worried me were all the service soon issues on the my Chevrolet app which appeared after. Just not sure how reliable this thing is. |

The phone app works about 10% of the time. I was able to track delivery of my car each step where it was. After that it is useless and like dial up connections.

I use the App to start/unlock/lock etc my car and it works perfectly fine. As far as the "vehicle conditions" that didn't allow you to update your radio, make sure you are connected to a solid wifi connection. The low battery condition may also induce this when it wants to do an update as well.

My safe point system was telling me the battery fell below 11.5 volts today to 10.8 volts. Going to check it with hp tuners oh just have a friend of mine check it. Last thing I want to do is head to the dealer. Today the car finally allowed the update but I didn't have time to sit there and do it so I put a reminder for 24hours. Funky shit. |

I don't think anything is wrong with your car, for some reason my app is showing me the same thing. When I run a code reader on it tho, i'm not showing any trouble codes. I think it's a glitch in the app.

I get the same thing. I think it's the app'. Before, I thought it was because he would be on the battery tender, and that would throw-off the diagnostics (some of the emissions-related diagnostics, like O2 heaters, have to go through a start cycle with a large electrical load, like the AC on and the rear defroster activated, right at start-up). I'm not sure I'm right, because it's only based off my understanding of some of these systems, but I think I could be close.
I don't think it's your car as much as the app', though. If you take it to the dealer, they have all the access, and could tell you for certain. HPTuners/EFIlive don't have as much power as the OEMs, but perhaps it could be helpful. I'd prefer to use it before going to the dealer, personally, lol.

Thank you both for your input and help. A friend of mine has I believe a tech II or something similar but I'll check. Going to check battery condition as well. Thanks again |
