Unfortunately, there is little to no sincere academic effort being put into honestly understanding the environmental impact of building an EV and any study that occurs will omit any data that is inconvenient to the desired result. We live in a time where science is anything you like with omission of anything that disagrees, and questioning that is a micro aggression.

Given recent events, anything that accurately and truthfully identifies anything negative about EV construction and material sourcing will soon be defined as "misinformation" that can cause "EV purchase hesitancy". I wish I was kidding.

When we mandate what should be a free-market force, we see escalation due to the predicted supply shortage for an unnatural demand increase. I fear that desirable EV will become even less attainable, not more, for most of the population as costs continue to increase with inflation and actual purchase power plummets. Then shaming of those who haven't agreed to comply will likely follow (also a recent trend). Even today, the affluent are publicly mocking people complaining about gas prices because they can A. afford any gas price and B. can afford (and may own) a luxury EV. Hell, the Kia EV6 starts at $40k and goes to $60k... for a Kia. Even the carbon footprint of shipping that vehicle across the ocean is not trivial... and isn't well documented because we tend to ignore the MASSIVE pollution that international shipping causes.

We're moving away from the purpose of this forum as this is more of an off-topic discussion. But we've come this far, so why not let it roll till mods close/delete the thread!

Censorship every where. It hurts more for, me who grew up in "after-commie" Poland, being bombarded with stories about past.
Maybe whe should simply move that to Off-Topic section? But it starts always with some kind of hook, and nobody is willing to start a topic in OT subforum

Because of...
I am from Poland, where every gas (non diesel) car where getting NG treatment to save money. Newest systems made fuel type change unnoticeable. Still does the same bangs, and could reach the same power numbers with good tune. One con I remember is that you have to start using gasoline to heat up engine so that when you decompress NG it doesn't freeze up... Especially in colder days... Ask me how I know. But I think some electric heater on the nozzle somewhere would solve that...

Excellent post. Thank you.

I have felt early on that EVs were never meant to be a viable replacement. The powers that be have no desire for personal auto ownership, EV or ICE that is affordable to the masses, lower and middle class. The goal is to co-erce most into public transportation. Zoning and home construction makes little or no accommodation for personal autos, much less multiple family cars. The affordability and availability of EVs with the materials needed, the coming end of ICE production and regulated end of fossil fuels, make mass production of personal autos a looming relic of the past.

Look how automakers have embraced building less units at higher cost as the profit model going forward. Especially true for EVs. Bureaucrats and mass transit planners now have their window of opportunity to require more mass transit that the public and all income classes have avoided up to now.

Yes, the future is inevitable the way it's going now. It doesn't have to be depending on the next two years. Hopefully common sense will return.

Unfortunately most of America has grown too soft and have their nose in social issues (that won’t be fixed by governments) while blue voters are sitting here thinking they’re doing the right thing and have better things in mind for society, they are going to have their quality of life and rights erased by the very elect they voted for. It’s terrible but inevitable what’s coming. We are on a sitting time bomb. It’s only a matter of time. Once they replace the members of SCOTUS with their own puppets, we’re really going to be in some serious trouble.

The birthing mothers half?

So, acknowledging that the Constitution says nothing on the subject, stating that the Court should stay out of it, and stating it should be left up to the people to decide is taking away rights?

But that's not what the Mainstream Media said.

Some things should be protected federally, and it isn't being left up to the people, its left up to individual states which have a dreadful track record of protecting individuals rights.

My apologies to all birthing people out there, and to any non-birthing people who might feel excluded. Also to all XX, XY, YX, XYY, YYX, XYX, and especially, XXX!
