Did you buy the car yet? The ad said sold and the video was very informative.

Beware this car has been modded and tuned and Mike knows nothing about this stuff. ZLEs do not need this. Take a look at the paint on strut tower bolts to see how many times track camber has been put into it. Mike is the absolute LAST person I would ever buy from so Buyer Beware as he's a total crook. Ever wonder why he's not working for the dealership anymore. Sorry to bear the bad news. |

I tend to agree with you Mike Lee!

I asked him if his shop had a lift so I could look underneath, He already has it on a lift and sent me a picture ready for my inspection in the morning. Haven't seen too many used car guys be that helpful. I do appreciate the feedback though and I'll have my guard up. But yes, I will be going over it with a fine tooth comb and a really bright flashlight. |

He even lies his ass off in this video. Said he sold he first ZLE in the country (we had that one at Camaro fest) Then he says he sold the 1st 10 speed auto which he knows is complete bullshit because my 2017 was first and he's been called out on it before. He didn't even sell the top 20 and the guy he used to sell cars to doesn't even talk to him anymore. Ever wonder why comments are turned off in his videos? Then he goes on to talk about sunroof options on a ZLE . Also says the wheels are forged I could go on and on with stories about this jackass but at least you're aware. Blevens motorsports isn't a top anything and I would have the tune checked on it as well and possibly put the stock pulley back on. You will have no cats if inspections are an issue. That hood throws up red flags too, like possibly hit in the front and needed replaced with a cheaper one. ZLE hoods are aluminum and very light. Water is going to be an issue with that draining on to the engine since there is no drip pan. I do wish for the best on this deal as Satin Steel is a killer color on the ZLE, but for that price a stock car would be a much better option IMHO. |

I stand corrected on the salesman, personal experience is always best, Sounds like he's your regular car salesman.

Enough wheel in the rear that I may consider going 335/345 25/20 if the suspension allows for the next tire change... I have to do more investigation on that front. Quote:
I completed the car purchase without much fanfare. I didn't have any problem with Mike. Not many used car salesmen would have a car up on a lift ready for the customer and let them inspect the underside of the vehicle. I would consider that going above and beyond. Not to mention, his store has a Google rating of 4.7 which is very high, with over 200 reviews. I don't think that would happen if you say he's as god awful as you elude to. Going back to what exactly did this guy do to you? Ya, he's not the best at knowing about car mods etc. Still better than most car salesman knowing that the car has four wheels and that's about it. Comments are only turned off for individual vehicle ad videos. To me that makes sense. Comments are on with his regular Chevydude channel videos. Anyway, on to the car! I will admit I was a bit trepidatious about the car and mods during the 10 hour drive up to Louisville. Going in blind to a modded car could be a score if it's done really well and you essentially buy mods for pennies on the dollar, or you risk something that wasn't done right. Thanks to Wuiquen above, he got me in contact with the owner that put almost all of the 8K miles on the car and did every single mod. The guy happens to be in the military like me, and we talked at length about the car over about an hours time. He and I were even in Afghanistan at the same base before. Everything we talked about even aligned with the Carfax report. 1. Car arrived at dealer around late March 2019, so hopefully doesn't have the engine oil pump issue that the 2017/18's have in the forum poll. 2. Car was bought by first owner in October 2019. 3. According to the 3rd owner (who did all the mods), the guy that was the 1st owner only drove it 1,200 miles over 15 months, it was too much car for him and he traded it in at Lexus dealer. 4. So the guy that purchased it and did all the mods (who sold the OEM 1LE wheels on this forum to Wuiquen), bought it from the Lexus dealer. 5. There was some weird thing with "owner two" who he believes may have been the dealer that bought it, as "owner 2" only had it for two months and put 12 miles on it. 6. Owner 3 that did all the mods, put on the ~7K or so miles, never tracked it and said there was no evidence the 1st old guy tracked it either. I checked the strut tower bolts and basically all suspension/alignment bolts and no evidence of adjustment. Looks like still all factory settings no wrench/paint scratch marks and bolt slip markers all lined up. I have the receipts for all the mods, which is very nice for re-sale value and confidence. Also, have all of the original OEM manuals and handouts... something that is nice to see confirming the car was handled well. I even have the original Ceramic Pro paperwork when the car got coated. Performance mods were completed by "House of Boost" out of Kansas City Missouri, who have 4.9 Google reviews. The receipt even has his military discount applied. He says he still has the original car cover which he said he can send me (I offered to pay shipping). He even has some of the original parts in his garage. The ownership handovers have been so good that even the OEM small dash drivers side window defogging vent that got replaced by the custom half vent to hold the iBanks display is in the glove compartment... He says he sold the car to buy a BMW M6 and mod it. He said he regretted selling this car and going to an M6. 7. Owner 4 only had it for two months and put less than 500 miles on it. The guy just pulled into Mike's Car Store one day, said he had some medical issues and wanted to put the car up for consignment sale, and here we are. A few thoughts about the car: 1. The paint really is beautiful.. the Satin Steel has a really nice depth to it. 2. The A/C blows cold! Way colder than my brand new Jeep Rubicon Gladiator Diesel. 3. The interior is immaculate. 4. The sound of this Borla Atak exhaust is insane. Especially with no cats. I would say definitely louder than my GEN V Viper and even louder than my cat-less straight titanium exhaust Nissan GTR. I just need to find the switch for the exhaust valves. I may splice-in high flow cats at some point as unburnt fuel smell in my garage isn't my favorite thing in the world. 5. LOVE the Anderson CF hood. I know a lot of people like OEM stuff, but the vinyl wrap on the OEM hood seems a bit chintzy and can get nicked from rocks. I've had quite a few carbon fiber hoods and this one is top tier quality. Very very solid and looks amazing. Car really isn't going to be driven in the rain so not really concerned about water dripping in the engine bay. The owner that did all the mods said he was going to send me a link to custom ZL1 emblems for the hood. 6. The wheels look even better in person than in photos. They have a nice depth/3D'ness to them that looks sweet. 7. Car rides completely fine with the DSSV's and the 20" wheels. Then again I'm used to pretty sporty/firm rides like in my Cup Lotus Exige S260. 8. I'm glad it comes with the windows tinted but will most likely put a high transparency ceramic tint on the windshield too. 9. Need to read the owners manual on all this stuff.. like how to operate the PDR. I understand you can have this running all the time for dash-cam purposes? 10. This car is a blast to drive. Especially with 670 RWHP and 707 RWTQ that sounds like hell is opening up WOT. 11. I did get the car for under the "discounted" asking price and am very happy with the purchase. It's a crazy race-car like experience yet at the same time having comfort items like vented seats. Last edited by Zybane; 07-17-2022 at 11:56 AM. |

Hey as long as you’re happy with your purchase then drive on and enjoy your hotrod because that’s all that matters!

Outstanding car at a fair price... You'll have a blast with it for sure.
As for Mike I totally wrote him off a long time ago after catching him in lie after lie. Even Al O himself blocked him as he kept citing Al as a source for his BS statements and predictions. Anyone who knows him has figured this out and yes he's not at the dealership anymore because of it. Of course folks that buy into it and buy cars are going to like and rate him accordingly... that's the game. He learned YouTube from Guitarmageddon ZL1 and took off from there. I've already given a couple instances of his lies right from the video you posted. Another is when he showed up to Camaro Fest without paying a dime and then snuck on the drag strip for 16 runs before getting caught. BeckyD also outsold him every single year, yet he continued to claim #1 which he was nowhere near. The car is the car and you have a sweet one, but this guy is a complete loser. No sense in beating this dead horse anymore as your baby is in good hands and ready to enjoy. Was just answering the thread and providing my insight. Quote:
As he should beAlso: Very cool you got with the original owner. A lot of times we can find them on the forums here which helps a lot. PDR - once your memory stick is in it's easy to start recording from the menus but for dash cam type ops you have to turn it on each time the car is started. Exhaust: Borla valves (if it still has them) is also in the menu and easy to setup to auto or on/off all the time. Cats: At your HP, adding HF cats might not be the best thing to do. They tend to blow out after a while. Especially if you track it. The smell (or lack of) might surprise you. |

In all I ended up with a sweet ride.. but super tired after 26 hours of driving over two days I don't even want to drive her again yet as my Jeep and Uhaul trailer are still blocking the driveway. ![]() EDIT: Oh ya forgot to mention UHAUL SUCKS. They didn't have the auto transport at the location I reserved at and dropped the ball. I had to do an extra 2.5 hour round trip to another location to pick it up, making pickup day much more long/frustrating. They did give me a $50 refund though. Laugh. |

I really looked those over hard back when I was renting trailers and didn't think the splitter would clear. Looks like an easy tow.EDIT: Ouch on U-haul mess-up. |

Ya the splitter won't clear. If you notice in the photo, I had to use off-road "Max Traxx" to lift the front wheels to get the splitter to clear. I've used pieces of wood in the past.
