I was looking for a great off the lot track day car.
Mach 1 was overpriced and a Miata with some track upgrades was getting too close to the Camaro's buy-in.

Not everyone is worthy of the power and responsibility that comes with 1LE.

I like overkill. Gives me sensation of bulletproofing car/whatever else. Also, when I was considering 2SS - 1LE made it so much agressive looking which I liked much more. ZL1 I have is not 1LE, but it's the same concept as SS1le but SC'd engine and worse looking wheels

I chose it for basically all the things the 7k got you…
Looks, performance, durability, seats, suspension… I can go on but again, every item made the 1le a great bargain. I also wanted a car I could track right out of the box without modification. I think the 1le shines in that regard. PS, I didn’t vote. I track for fun. Not a professional. I also race TT and Lemons for fun. I wish I had enough talent to be a paid professional! |

I chose it so I could get those nifty orange front spring spacers.

i was tired of trying to build a car with its capabilities. they do everything very well. potent road course car out of the box and a wheel change away from drag racing.

I bought it to race it, I'm not a professional by any means. I'm at a point in life right now the money is more available than time and now I have a car I can beat on autocross and the track for 5 yrs and 60k miles. It's already been autocrossed and it should make several road course appearances this year. It's simply that good as a package period. The poll is flawed as well, a whole lot of racing, road course, autocross etc., gets done by people that are not professionals.

Another one who is far from a professional race driver but autocrosses and tracks the car and love having a car that's ready to do those things straight off the showroom floor.

Got it for autocross that I have been doing for ten years to replace my modded 2012 fifth gen that was doing the autocross duty.

I love the look, but also it was a far better value than adding all of the options individually (suspension, wheels, brakes, Recaros. etc...).

I've driven an M6 1SS and M6 1SS 1LE back-to-back and they're two totally different cars. My dad has a Porsche 718 Boxster and I wanted to join him on some of his weekend drives. I found that the M6 1SS 1LE has the most Smiles-Per-Gallon under $50k.
