One of my most favorite cars was a 05 Acura RSX -S. 83000 rpm redline 6spd no over driven gears. Change gears over 8 grand and the tach would fall at a little over6 grand at the bottom of 3rd 'big' v tech a pull back to redline fast in every gear.It pulled hard to145 mph with just air box mods. Moral of story , good gearing and h.p. is better than big torque and tall gears even if it is slower because of less c.i.

That is just your perception, you enjoy close ratio high revving applications. I on the other hand, completely prefer the opposite experience, which is loads of power and torque available throughout the entire rpm range with tall gears that will become a necessity as power upgrades are made.
In a nutshell, you prefer slower cars that feel fast while I prefer faster cars that feel slow.

Going back to my Gen5 experience: test drove the V6, ordered the V8.

Thank you, you get exactly what I'm saying. Honestly I could be happy with a 4,6 or 8 cyl gen 6. I think the 6 cyl suits me best.Have a great day fellow gear head.

I paid 5.799 for 93 on Costco today

Are there traction problems with the V8's with traction control or launch control deactivated?
Also, is it difficult to get an SS to go under 4.5 seconds 0-60 with or without these controls?

I would only buy a manual, so I hope someone could share their experiences with a manual SS regarding this.
Thanks in advance.

There can be. With OEM tires properly warmed up I can still spin depending upon the surface, temp etc. Throttle control is important.

No lift shift is one way to get a good run.

I don't have trouble getting under 4.5 with the nannies off, but I have bigger and better rubber than what you get stock on an SS.

Hey OP. I already posted on your thread. Over the last few days there have been a lot of responses of varying degrees. At the end of the day you have to do what is right/good for you.

You will have owners with the turbo 4 claim that's what you need. Then some will say you have to get the ZL1 1LE. If your good with the V6 M6 then go for it. If you want the V8 at not a crazy price, then aim for the LT1.

In these crazy times of pandemic(s) and auto industry issues, get what makes you happy and are comfortable with.

I ordered a 2021 2SS 1LE in Feb of 2021 knowing I wanted a ZL1. Well, after 6 months of the 1LE I ended up ordering the ZL1 in 2022. Just do it right the first time and good luck.

Agreed, buyers remorse will eat you alive. Buy once cry once, it's cheaper.

I agree. I have admired a 1LE for several years. Even test drove one in 2019, but couldn't pull the trigger. Finally bought a 2022 and couldn't be happier with it.

83,000 rpms. That must have been an explosive version of a Redline edition, bringing new meaning to Chevy's marketing term.

I went from a Honda Civic-2020 LT1-2018 ZL1. If you’re someone who gets bored easily, I would stick with the v8. You will never go back or want to for that matter.
