I agree that I was going to have the exposed cf hood insert. I like it!

I like it, but it's a very low priority for me.

The CF hood insert is a must have. It looks amazing, and if you're into that sort of thing, gets noticed by on-lookers at car meets. I've had my '21 ZL1 15 months now and it looks as good as the day I took it home from the dealership. I also have the entire front end covered in Xpel PPF.

I like it to, but I also like black. Car I ordered is red, I think both would of looked good. I didn’t order it though, decided to save the $650.

I'm not sure it's a MUST HAVE, but I wanted it. I believe it was cheaper to have in on the car from the factory, so I went that way.

However - because I saw a comment on the dash pad, I'll add that I found it considerably cheaper to just buy one separately and change it myself. I think it was like half the price of the factory option.

Neither are must haves, but I like looking over, toward the passenger, and then almost anytime out the windshield and seeing the CF. I will admit there was what looked like left-over polish, at the cowl, from the factory/manufacturer, but it rubbed off. I keep it protected, as well as the rest of the car, with some ceramic protection, so I'm not worried about fading.

I would submit a complaint, that probably extends to ALL of these inserts, wherein there are 2-concave-spots, where it seems the insert is adhered to the mounting bracket (underneath the panel, but where it actually attaches to the hood panel). It's like the adhesive dried and pulled the CF down, and is deforming it, in those spots. I registered a complaint with the dealer at my first, and only service visit, but I've seen it on other cars, so I feel like it's not abnormal, so I probably won't push.

Not worth delaying my order for it especially when it already comes with a painted carbon fiber one. Going exposed also takes away from the styling of the black pieces on a non-black car. If I had ordered a black painted car then exposed carbon fiber would've been worth it (only for color contrast). I also ordered the carbon fiber dash piece through work for much less than it is as an option on the car.

The CF dash panel was on constraint when my ZL1 was built. I ordered it about 9 months later from one of the online vendors and did the swap out myself.

After having the exposed CF dash panel and hood insert, I thought why not sprinkle a little more carbon fiber throughout the engine compartment and interior to tie it altogether.

I had it ordered on my 22 that was canceled, and just ordered it again on the 23. I think it's a great option for the price.

For the record, the CF panel with or without paint is very expensive from GM.

Really like what you've done with your car, I think I'm going to slowly add carbon fiber pieces to the interior to hep contrast the suede. Few trim pieces and that steering wheel would be ideal.
