I’ve never peaked at the runners under the supercharger but after peaking just now i am able to see the bluish seal that’s supposed to seal the supercharger to the heads. This can’t be right. On top of that, some of the supercharger to head bolts are fully bottomed out while others are not. I’m starting to wonder if the issue is my harbor fright torque wrench.

I’m down to buying a torque meter to attach to my wrench to make sure it’s really 89in lbs or i remove the blower again to check the seals and lt1 to lt4 adapter plates. If i do that I will have to buy new blower bolts again from gm for $150 and I’m not looking forward to that. Lol

I have the HF click torque wrench. I bought it years ago based on reviews saying it was actually among the most accurate!

Not sure about those bottomed-out bolts. Doesn't sound right.

Bottom-ed out bolts may mean they are diff. lengths and some are in the wrong position...

I didn’t really think of that. This whole thing has my mind spinning to be honest. I’m just going to go down the street and buy some new bolts from gm and try to reseat the blower. I think all of the bolts are the same length but i could be wrong.

I got the blower back off to inspect everything and try to reseat the blower. All of the bolts still have loctite on them an the sleeves are in good condition so i may try to reuse them and hope they don’t snap on me.

Perhaps measure the hole depth and compare it to the bolt length to check/verify if the bolts are bottoming out ??

Didn't even know they made 89 in lb torque to yield bolts.

Yeah, depth gauge on a set of calipers to check the hole depth. Shine a flashlight in there to make sure no contaminants.
if bolt length is close you could always pad it with a few washers up top.

So i just discovered that the bolts are too long. The reason is because the lt1 adapter plates for the lt4 blower doesn’t have as deep of holes as the actual lt4 heads. The bolts are about 1/8 of an inch too long.

Considering getting some washers to put under the head as mentioned above.

Thank you so much to everyone who helped out. There’s definitely a learning curve with all of this but it’s worth it in the end.

The bolts were too long. I added 2 grade 8 washers to each bolt and that did the trick. The bolts seated right and so did the supercharger. I just got back from a test drive and everything felt great.

Nice work progressively working through the problem, rather than just ignoring advice on here. Great job!
