Trying to decide on a axleback please help

I found 2 used exhaust. Found a Mbrp for $400 obo. Then a borla atak for $700 obo. I want my camaro ss to be loud. But I plan on getting catless longtube headers. What exhaust should I get? Also the borla doesn’t have valves which I’m not worried about.

I just now ordered the Legato axle back from American Muscle. I have the Flowtech on now and it was perfect before I did the headers. Now it just way to loud for me. The Flowtech has a glass pack straight through vs the Legato actually has a chambered muffler.

I have the Corsa NPP. If you are going catless headers, you may wish to hold off on getting a new exhaust.

Hooker now makes catbacks that take the flat pipe out.

I have the Borla Atak cat back with the valves and love the sound when accelerating. The idle isn't the loudest.
Borla has some pretty good sound comparrison videos on their web site if you haven't seen them yet.

How much louder do you think it is compared to stock npp from idle and wot. Then just light acceleration?

Stock: NPP Open - 94.0 dB
Corsa: NPP Closed - 97.5 dB
Corsa: NPP Open - 108.4 dB

I like they way Mbrp sounds but once you get headers it so loud and I’m not trying to piss my neighbors off and also my parents. I think borla will be the way to go. I heard some people say that borla is quite though.

Maybe I should rephrase my respone. IMO the Borla on my car is a deeper sound compared to the stock. It is also louder but not obnoxious. This is all so subjective. I had a hard time choosing but had a buddy that had the Atak on his 2010 and it sounded pretty good to me so I went with it. The carbon fiber tips also helped with my decision because I wanted a different look.

Connor, this is my exact set up if you want videos I can provide some. Might give you an idea what you would be looking at with the borla atak and longtubes. Send me a PM if you want and I can send some!

I just installed a MBRP Installer Series axle back on my SS. Much. Nicer sound than stock and just loud enough.

It will not be quiet with headers.
