Not sure how much of a dent people here would make in their overall sales, plus this forum definitely doesn't represent the whole gamut of Camaro owners, but they obviously didn't consider it enough to invest. A true chicken and egg problem, though, because how could they gauge the true sales potential when they already explicitly stated their "180 technology" was "way superior" to valves and they refused to understand why some people desire more control than pressing the accelerator. It's also possible that they did the research and found they couldn't match or beat Borla's and Corsa's (already high) price points, and that's why they ditched the idea... but I'm afraid we might never find out.

What I'm talking about is, say, pulling away from a light in sport mode vs tour mode with the exact same throttle input, rpm and gear progression has a significant exhaust note difference in sport vs tour mode with the NPP, which is a feature I like and don't want to lose. There is no way their passive, no valve exhaust will sound different in these two scenarios.

AWE sales seem to indicate most buyers don't care. I understand you do. |

My car with the stock manifolds and the AWE Touring catback sounded *SO* good. Probably my favorite musclecar exhaust note of all time. It still sounds awesome now but I had to add a Magnaflow center muffler to tame the 2” headers. Still no drone either and the tips are awesome too.

Great conversations! As always, exhaust discussions are interesting to say the least. Everyone has their opinion and their justification why. I totally get the reasons each person has what they chose. It is a pretty big investment and gaining knowledge and opinion is always nice. Trying to decide between sound, cost, looks, etc. is a tough process. Especially when not able to hear all of them in person next to each other with the same mods.
The good news is that is looks like there is a market for used exhausts and so if I make my decision now based on what I think is the right choice, it's not the end of the world if I change my mind. Thanks for all the input.

I have never heard a better exhaust than the AWE resonated touring exhaust on a stock ZL1. The best comparison I can give is that it sounds a LOT like a Shelby GT350 which is a HUGE compliment. Once you add headers and remove the cats or add high flow cats though, the volume changes a LOT and for some its too much. Adding an extra Magnaflow x muffler in the center tunnel takes some of the volume out and makes it bearable again. AWE has the best looking tips too which is another perk.

I completely understand why some people still want the valves.

I've heard the resonated in person and like Z said it is an amazing exhaust for the ZL1, not sure if you can find someone local to hear it but it's worth it IMO....but don't let me spend your money haha
