Next up is something newer Gen6 Camaros come with but my 2017 didn’t: line lock! I’m probably murdering my rear brakes doing burnouts at the strip without it not to mention putting extra stress on the driveline. So I ordered up one of SJM’s bolt-in line lock kits along with a custom 28mm button for my center console. SJM’s solenoids are made in the USA (ironically the optional Hurst ones are not!) and are rebuildable too.

Not done yet…! After seeing how badly the engine and blower heat soak sitting in the staging lanes at the track, I have to do something. The hassle of an ice box didn’t look attractive, so when a brand new in box Interchiller popped up for sale I decided to go for it. And since my brother just put the same kit in his super nasty Z06, I figured I’d let him figure out how it all works first…
But I’m definitely looking forward to ~40 degree intercooler water!

That smooth boost looks cool. My car isn’t a drag car, but if I went with a blower I could see that being beneficial on a road course to dial the hp down maybe.

Looking good!! Please don't be one of those guys that goes this far and then lists the car for sale shortly after. It sure seems like that is all most do after a full build like this anymore.

So, you know you've gone overboard when you completely forget that you ordered car parts. I got home from work and was wondering what the huge box on my porch was?!? But at least I was smart enough to quickly whisk it away to the garage before the wife started asking questions!
In any event its a Competition Motorsports roll bar, powder coated in white to match the Ceramic White interior (and the white Whipple, of course). The reviews have been excellent for this roll bar and felt like I needed some extra safety given the speeds this car can do these days. While it's not NHRA legal, nothing short of a 10 point bar is...and since I'll never do that, I figured it was better to do something I could live with and not hate (than to do nothing at all...). And this bar looks fantastic, so hopefully I'll be able to live with it in the car. I also ordered the Shrader Rear Seat Delete kit too, since the back seats are pretty much useless to begin with, and the roll bar wasn't going to help that situation...!

So while I’m waiting for a few odds and ends to arrive, I decided to make a few visual tweaks to the car. Not normally my cup of tea, but after nearly 4 years of getting ragged on by my brother to “Ditch the bicycle reflectors!” I decided to do just that. I stumbled across a thread about the Morimoto smoked LED dual strip side marker lights and I decided to give them a try. I think they look good!

So while I was at it with the sidemarker lights, I decided to do the smoked OEM ZL1 1LE taillights before Arpad bought them all.
Since I had the taillights out, I added some LED backup lights that were suggested on this board and the Gen5DIY plug & play harness to make them work. So now that I’ve done this, I realize the gold bow tie probably has to go now too… and the red diffuser reflectors too…

Well, in order to get Arpad to stop making me check out his rear end… I finally got the gold bow ties and red SS badges ditched for the black versions of each. I think it looks better for sure! Lower reflectors are all that’s left… I think?
