Yeah the Katech name carries a pretty hefty price tag. The idea of a 427 isn't bad though been enjoying mine for a little over 2yrs now.

People love to over cam cars to get that chop but seldom set them up correctly to perform. Large cam needs a large converter if auto or a steeper gear if manual. Those kind of camshafts also need more compression, octane(e85), and RPM(7200rpm +) to utilize their potential.

Another +1 for Katech. Zach and the team have been fantastic to work with. My 1le is there right now being built with the 427 mentioned previously in this thread along with a wealth of other goodies. Check out the thread in the 1LE section.

Katech or any big name shop will charge you $25k+ all said and done

Might as well have gotten a ZL1 at that point
