I already have DSX aux pump would that work? It’s only $1k more to do the 416. I originally wanted to go 377 but the shop talked me into the 416, says it will give me more low end tq and be a better base to build off of if I go with a D1X or F1 series. In the end I just want a nice forged block and to be able to run e85 and be dependable and not have to worry about the stock pistons no more. Realistically if I was anywhere in the 750-850 whp that would be plenty of power. |

I disagree with your shop. Not a fan of Stroker motors...square engines are better for boost. If you want to go larger then go 427. Either way Rod and Piston 377 will handle 1000whp all day. I can see going larger cubes with a F1a94 but not with a P1x or even D1x. Did your stock engine let go?

No my stock engine is fine. I was wanting to get some more rwhp and wanting to run full e85, I was told the stock rings probably aren’t gonna hold past 650 whp. I also wanted to do a cam swap to take advantage of the lpe pump so figured doing a cam and drop ins wouldn’t be a bad idea. It kinda escalated from there. The only difference in cost to do the 416 was buying a new crank. I’m supposed to talk to the shop engine builder today so I will question the 416 vs 377. I’m pretty confident from the research and advice on the forums that 800 whp on e85 is doable with the lpe/+30’s even with a 38% fuel lobe and DSX pump. The shop won’t guarantee it thou. The cars they have built with the lpe stuff have all ran fore innovations pumps and have made over 900 whp on e85. They haven’t pushed the lpe stuff without the fore pumps so it’s a learning experience for them as well. |

I am not sure about Aux pumps running out of headroom faster on +19 stuff. Haven't spent a ton of time researching them. I know it works fine on a Z06 making a lot more power then you are trying to make.
The 416 crank for that little of upcharge is likely weaker then the stock crank. That is something you need to pay attention to. Stock cranks are stronger then most aftermarket stuff until you get into the Callie's Magnum range.

Ok, yea it’s a Callie’s crank for the 416. I really appreciate you giving me your advice and trying to save me a headache. I’ve always wanted to do a built PC car and am at the position to where I can finally do it. Unfortunately I’m at the mercy of the local shops to do the work. After thinking about it over the weekend I think I’m gonna stick with the 377 and put the $1k towards something else. I was worried from the start that the P1X was gonna be too small for the 416, even if I upgraded to the D1X the 377 will be fine. What it comes down to for me is I want to run full pump e, dependability, and not worry about the stock pistons anymore lol. The shop has done a 416 with a D1X at 9psi made 742 whp on 93,he’s upgrading the fuel system now to go full e. Im kinda limited on the local shops that work on the LT platform. Thanks |

They did confirm that with lpe/+30’s and a 38% fuel lobe cam I will be able to run full e85 real close to 800 whp. It will just be at a lower psi to stay within limits of fuel system. It may pull a higher number but won’t know until it’s on the dyno. I will also be adding a circle d convertor for my A10. Hopefully it should be a nice build in the end. |

No I have not. Figured I’m gonna do it all at once. I ended up at e30-40, 16* timing, 8.5 psi. I could feel the difference from 93 to the e30. On 93 it’s like 14.5*. I did a dragy run with my nitto r2 dr, it showed 10.7 @ 136 mph. Took advantage of a few 65* days haha

14.5 on 93 seems high and 16 on E40 seems low. I would much rather be more conservative on 93 vs E... lol

Yea I was looking at my logs last night. So on e30 it’s 19.5* and slowly pulls timing as I climb up in rpm. At 6500 it’s 15.5*. My timing on 93 was originally 15* but had some KR (.03-.05) so tuner took a touch out. I feel there’s more in but the tuner said without putting it on the dyno he doesn’t want to push it anymore.

This thread has been very informative. I'm sort of in the same boat but not looking to get outrageous numbers from the PC (Factory Airbox and P-1SC-1) install. I want to get as close to 600rwhp with the install on the stock parts. Not wanting to change out injectors just yet but what I have done was koooks longtubes and h/f cats with the e85 kit. I may never even put e85 in there but it will be nice to know I have that option to flex if I wanted to.
Side note I hate the way they just use the top of factory airbox use so I'm going to hook it to my rotofab instead. Good luck with your build my friend........................... |
