If that is the case you would expect the quality to be better and that the tolerances of the individual components would also be better due to the individual doing the work wanting to make sure the product is top notch knowing his or her name is going on it.

You guys' optimism is commendable, but this isn't exactly the Koenigsegg assembly plant in Sweden. If I ran the assembly line, there would be individual metrics and operator names associated with each component and phase, plus thousands of tests run on every LT1/LT4 that gets built, PBC or not... and I'm just a regular guy with 0 automotive manufacturing experience, so I imagine there are many more quality gates I've never even heard of.

In summary, I don't think there is a measurable difference in the build quality of these engines. That said, I have an open mind and am happy to hear out any concrete rebuttal from actual experience (with manufacturing, not something like a single failure point with someone's own motor).

Nice. Zak built my ZL1 LT4. I hope he enjoying building these engines. The direction GM is going Zak will be installed electric motors and batteries soon.

I recall a youtube Camaro review that he commented on and congratulated the owner, pretty cool from him.

EDIT: found it!

Quick question as I suspect I probably have one of these plaques since on my M6 2SS. Where is it located, I'm guessing under the engine cover somewhere?

ETA: I went back and started reading the thread from the beginning, followed a couple of hints and did a good search which lead to this video, which shows the removal of the side portion of the engine cover at the 52s mark.

My is a 2022 2SS manual vert. Aug 2021 build date. I have the plaque too. Has anyone heard of anyone with the LT1 with a manual transmission without the plaque? Maybe all the manual where built by hand at the PCB?

Sounds like all the manual LT1 cars have had it for a couple years. I am guessing since the A10 gets the cylinder deactivation, the manual equipped engines aren't built on the same production line. I'm going to Bowling Green next weekend to the NCM/Factory for the Michelin NCM fest. I am going to track down DEBI LEWIS and thank her for the great engine! Seriously though, there are going to be some GM reps from the Camaro/Corvette marketing team and I may ask them...

Pretty sure they started building them in BG when they quit building the C7 Z06 with the LT4. That way they could keep the PBC running, keep their experienced people assigned there, etc. The engines needed for all ZL1 LT4s plus the manual SS and LT1 LT1s probably just fit the available capacity, plus they could keep the previously used automated engine line running at reduced capacity for the auto LT1s.

With all the demand for the C8 Z06, once it goes into production I have to believe the PBC will be busy building those engines and the Camaro engines will go back to the automated line until they're done.
