Some people hate being passed. I am at that point where if someone is trying to get around me, and I'm in the far left lane or am in a single lane where passing in the oncoming lane is ok, I'm perfectly ok with the person behind me passing. Conversely, if I'm trying to pass someone that's driving slower and they try to keep me from passing, or start to pace me after I get past them, I do what I can to put distance on them, mostly because I find it to be a safety issue, especially if they try to hang around in my blind spot (this annoys the crap out of me, and happens quite a bit for some reason).

Got some kudos from a random guy at a traffic light who loved the car. Got a lot of kudos from the Sherriff that pulled me over last Sunday too. Was nice enough to have a chat about the car and let me of with a warning. Parked down at the Dragon store at the North Carolina end of the Tail. Guy in a GT350 and his buddy walking around the Z checking it out. Some thumbs-up and revs from some of the other Camaros on the Tail on the way back to Knoxville. Got some looks in the rear-view mirror at a light when I pulled up behind a '19+ SS. So ,some. Wouldn't say a ton.

As I was walking back to my car, a guy said "I love those wheels, man!" as he was stealing them and putting my car on cinder blocks.

Went to the job site where I was earlier this week (where the guy was checking out my car and mouthed "WOW" as he looked it up and down) to pick up some clothes. When I left, the same guy was sitting outside in front of my car on the phone. I'm thinking he probably had to explain what that noise was when I cranked it.

Uggg, ya. I have had people who have done that to me too. I don't understand why people have an issue if you want to pass them. If I'm not going fast enough for you, by all means, go around me. I generally don't have that problem though because I'm normally traveling faster then most everyone else. . My wife is always yelling at me. Ha Ha

Those are the worst, with their big azz chunky tires and (of course) no mudflaps in the rear, spraying everything those tires pick up.

A few days ago, wife and I are running around in the zl1. I had to put some gas in it, pick up a few small items, ect. On the way home she was hungry and wanted del taco. So I go through the drive thru and what not. Get to the window and a younger kid is like "wow man! Thats a sick ass car!" So I said thank you. He then asked "it a v6 or v8?" I chuckled and said its a v8. he said "oh cool" and takes my $. Then I just hear my wife "this dumb mother ****er" 😆 I just told her that just means WAY to many v6 camaros are rocking zl1 body kits now. Lol

I get looks and thumbs-up relatively frequently for my car, and it's stock appearing. It's kinda' surprising, being black, it doesn't really stand out right away, but once they notice, people seem to give it attention sometimes.

lol, I don't expect anyone to know what the ZL1 badging is on the Camaro. Hell, I'm actually shocked when someone does know what a ZL1 is. In all honesty, I didn't pay too much attention to badging before I started looking at the Camaros, as there's way too many damn trim levels.

Went out running some errands today as well and I'm still not used to heads turning in my direction when I drive by. Was making a left hand turn in a busy intersection and a family with what looked like a teenaged son were waiting to walk across the intersection. As I drove by I could see the son motion to his father at my car. It's always nice when you can help facilitate the bonding of a father and son with some good ole American muscle flex.

Last week, as I was scraping the frost off my Traverse in the morning before work, my neighbor walked by and said, "what, not driving the mustang today?"... I considered asking if she has ever seen a Ford in my driveway, but didn't feel like engaging her in conversation, so just said no and resumed my scraping.

Saturday I was out with my wife for lunch and then a couple of errands and had a Mustang Boss drive past as we were pulling out of a lot. No wave, he never even glanced over. We then pulled out of the lot and ended up side-by-side at a light. I looked over and was going to give him a nod & smile, thumbs up, whatever. But again he never even glanced over although I'm sure he had to hear the ARM crackle as we rolled to a stop next to him. Oh well. He turned, we went straight.

I know some people really get in rivalries about cars, motorcycles, whatever. I've always been more of the mindset of appreciating whatever brings people enjoyment. I've ridden my Harley with guys on Hondas, Victory's, whatever and never cared. I just enjoy the shared experience. Much the same here where I would have given him a wave, just recognizing a guy out for a ride in his fun car on one of the first nice days of spring.

The MP at the Fort Knox gate said "nice car" when I pulled up for the ID card check, so I revved it a bit, and he said "Damn!!!"

Got a nice compliment from my new boss at work. Finally got the car out of winter storage and brought it into work this AM. Boss says... Is that your Camaro out there you got out of storage. I said it sure is. He says that is one sharp car... that color is beautiful he said. . The HBM sure gets a lot of compliments.
