I did my second order on this deal yesterday. This time I got a notification that the Mobil 1 filters would be delayed, but no mention was made about the rest of the order?

Thanks to the op who let us all know about this deal! Ordered 10 quarts of Mobil1 0W-40 and 2 Mobil1 filters last Friday and the order arrived on Monday. It's a great deal!

30 quarts and 6 filters arrived today. Need to get those filters returned. Picked up a 12 pack of ac-delcos from Rock Auto.

Is there anything wrong with the Mobil 1 filter? Is the AC Delco better? Or just cheaper?

I have no experience with the Mobil 1 filter, the AC Delco is the OEM filter. Seems folks swear by them.

I just reordered the 10 qts and 2 filters from AZ after they cancelled the order from yesterday, we'll see if they will ship this time. Don't have much confidence AZ, not a big fan.

As for the Mobil 1 filter, I have never used them, I run WIX and Fleet Guard in my other vehicles. Personally I'd only use Delco oil filter while still under factory warranty, after that its up to you.

From what I have gathered in all my research the only potential problem with the Mobil 1 filter is that it may be below the 22 PSI requirement of the bypass pressure valve. Mobil doesn't post this information, and from what I gather online, everyone seems to get different answers when they ask Mobil. I think the general consensus is that is it somewhere in the 12-18 PSI range. AC Delco obviously is 22 PSI, as are a few other aftermarket filters (WIX comes to mind, but I am sure there are others). Now I am not sure if this actually matters any, but I personally am not willing to risk it.

Oh also, on a slightly different note, I just drove around to 3 different Autozones in my area to try to find the original ESP oil:

However that oil doesn't seem to exist anymore. The only oil I saw was this (ESP X3):

Both are Dexos 2 certified, and both are listed as recommended for the Camaro SS by Mobil. It is just a bit confusing because the ESP X3 very specifically says European Car formula on the front (black text in my photo), which used to not be okay, but I guess now it is? As for the old ESP that is now called "Supercar", that one I did not see at any store. I don't think the Supercar is on sale yet. Just thought I would update, as anyone ordering this oil via Autozone will most likely be getting the ESP X3 and not the old ESP. Though I am starting to think these are both the same oil and Mobil has just been changing names of it over the years, and now they further complicated things by releasing the Supercar. I guess once Supercar hits the shelves it will be the clear pick for our cars and we can ditch the ESP name all together.

Guys, stop overthinking it. The oil that AZ is selling, as posted by the OP, the 0W40 ESP DEXOS2 "European Formula" is good to use. Full send it! You can mix it, you can bathe in it, you do what ever you want with it, you can even not buy it. GM says both deserve the DEXOS 2 certification, both are 0W40.

Don't get all caught up in the "European Car" note, this oil is ESP Formula and it is Dexos2, THOSE are the 2 things that matter...

The regular "European Car Formula" is NOT ESP and is NOT Dexos2, that is why it wasn't ok... And still is NOT approved...

I am fully bathing in it right now.

The proper filter to use for our cars is to buy a PF64 and a M1-113A. Then you need to cut both apart, but do so carefully for the M1-113A. You'll then need to take the 22lb bypass valve spring from the PF64 and put it into the M1-113A. Reweld it back together and then use that filter on your car.

As I noted previously, the Mobil 1 filters do not appear to have the correct bypass pressure for our LT engines. GM calls for a bypass-opening pressure of 22psi like a PF64, but I think the M1 filters have a lower opening pressure like a PF48: the M1-113 seems to cross to both the PF64 and PF48, which is not correct: they are physically the same dimensions and will fit, but the PF48 has too low a bypass pressure. The effect is that if you use a M1-113 or PF48 on your LT1 engine, the bypass will be open more often than it should be and oil will circulate without being filtered (it's bypassing the filter element). The PF64 has the proper bypass pressure, and so does the Wix WL10290XP and NAPA FIL 100290, for example. I wouldn't use a filter on our cars that doesn't publish its bypass pressure specs.
