“Open Allocation”

Hi all, I recently placed an order for a M6 1SS Camaro 1LE in Rapid Blue through a dealer who said he has “Open Allocation”. I had to place a $1000 refundable deposit. It has now been 2 weeks and my status still is at 1100 dealer has placed the order. I understand the supply chain mess we are in. But I’m also seeing guys who are having progress on the cars within the first week. Is it safe to assume that the dealer was lying and that I possibly need to try and get an order placed at another dealership before production on 22’s ends? I’m just a guy who wants a 1LE SS and it’s really discouraging trying to find what I want. Any insight helps, thanks.

First of all great choice!

If your dealership does in fact have an allocation the order should be accepted quickly and the status should change in the matter of a week or two, assuming there are no constraints on your order, including options. I would ask the dealership when they expect the order to be accepted by Chevy. Once accepted you should then get a build week.

If the dealership doesn't have an allocation you might want to look for an in stock or in transit vehicle that meets your specs and see if it is available. That's what I did after my order was still at 1100 after 12 weeks. Found the exact car I was looking for at a dealership in SC.

It’s looking like I take a trip to Deleware or I buy it used. Thanks for you insight. I hope you’re loving the ride I’m definitely jealous 😂

That's probably your best bet. And you are welcome. Been there, done that. I'm definitely enjoying the car. And I love the color.

Does your order have UQT Performance Data Recorder on it? That option is currently not available and that would keep your order from moving past 1100 status.

Nope, just a 6m rapid blue 1SS 1le. I tried my best to make it the order simple as possible hoping it could get here sooner. I’m thinking it could possibly be the rapid blue not sure.
