HAHA! I remember the Hotchkis brace for the 94-96 imps. Ya, it was a total waste of $$, but some guys thought it looked cool.

NOT snake oil.
BMRSTB012 Not listed for Gen5, but it is, and not a STB. Thread Seeing double explains. and Spohn C10996 Adjustable K-member brace. Is listed for Gen5 and its non-adjustable version. Very inexpensive, super effective. |

In most cases you have to imagine what your exactly doing to your vehicle. If your adding air into it, air must come out of it. So if it's just an intake, you won't see much of a gain, but if you add a full exhaust kit, then you will gain a bit more. Now, if you go the full route with porting and bigger stroke, then it all has the same air in through out. Then fuel and timing needs to be added so it's nothing more than 1 thing then the next and so on. A long complicated list you have to do to make your vehicle powerful.

All snake oil.
That attitude has kept the gen5 less than it could be for 12 years. |

Lmfao dude I’ve been down the modding rabbit hole on every car that I’ve owned .. I was actually joking why I put lol at the end - if you see I’m in a 20k Build right now as we speak .. Max effort lsa build .. As far as cai is concerned without a tune youll net maybe 5-10hp as some cai bring to much air in and cause the computer to pull timing on the high end Like a air raid system of old .. Kinda the same as if you try and slap a jlt 5” intake or a roto fab big gulp Just saying the fact some cai will do their job but it can be the computer that hinders it . Seen this on black bear performance website - they actually went and dyno comparison on different cai . |

[QUOTE=Risingson05;11152755]Lmfao dude I’ve been down the modding rabbit hole on every car that I’ve owned ..
I was actually joking why I put lol at the end - if you see I’m in a 20k Build right now as we speak .. Max effort lsa build .. Very impressive! No LOL. I will read more of your threads. Are you familiar with The Hot Rod Company of Green Acres, Washington USA? My LSX 383 stroker from a new 5.3 block came from there. Clearly lots here do think its all snake oil. Not me. Haha thank you sir . No I’m not familiar with that place - most of the engine builders I’m familiar with are Thompson Motorsport , Texas speed , lmp performance just to name a few . I think most are just joking around with you there’s actually a lot of people here that are far more deeply modded than I - forged and stroked bottom end - twin turbo charged - th-400 etc etc .. I mainly do this as a hobby - just a backyard mechanic |

I can understand where the OP is coming from…there are definitely certain parts for certain cars that are promoted as upgrades that really aren’t really. However, I do like to think that the collective knowledge on Camaro5 helps weed out and eliminate the “snake oil” parts for our cars...especially for those who take the time do some research.
Besides, the world already has enough people with this mentality and we don't need to let the Camaro fall into that category: ![]() ![]()

True and even better the collective knowledge from all sites devoted to all the Holden cars. Facts about engine and driveline, brakes, chassis, suspension and electronics among other things of all the Holden cars are transferable to each other.
