ZL1 Ground Clearance

I just put down a deposit ordering a ZL1 Convertible (taking my place in line). The only concern I have is ground clearance at the nose. I work on a military base where the only way off is to drive over recently installed metal speed bumps. Does anyone know what the clearance is compared to my stock 2017 1SS with no splitter?

I bet it's slightly less than your SS. I feel like static clearance is probably 4-5" from the ground.

I work at the same base you're asking about. You will have no issues if the car is stock. Mine has been lowered with Eibach springs and my Kooks headers scrape on the metal spikes. I stopped driving my ZL1 to work when they installed those. Stock car will be fine though.

Thanks! those speed bumps are terrible! The spring-loaded spikes pop up and hit the underside of the SS. I think they could have done something different with those.

I remember way back when you could go to a car lot and see for yourself how high the clearance was on a similar car. Those were the days!

I've lowered both my 16 SS and 2022 LT1 plus my C7. I had no issues with speed bumps and you can cross them with one of the front tires leading first as it helps straddle the bumps easier. You'll be fine so just take it slow. Enjoy the ride

All 3 of these rides have been at least 1.5 lower then stock. Hate the 4 wd look from the factory.

i live in kuwait where there are speed bumps every 200 yards of all shapes and sizes and i have not scraped the ZL1 once. unlike the C7Z, which was a problem.
