The Dodge TRX has gone up like $10K in the last 12 months I think.

Any word on this week’s constraints? Curious if PDR is available

I can somewhat understand it. I mean from 2021 to 2023 there shouldn't be much change to the ZLE. Given that the order was already placed for a MY22, maybe the dealership will agree not to do the "nitrogen/tint/paint protection" markup. I figure any small victory is a victory.

Having said that, I think dealerships are starting to understand that the current form of the Camaro is nearing the end. They are trying to make all they can. Once the public begins to panic about future availability, it's going to be a madhouse. If prices get really crazy, I will be tempted to part with my newly purchased ZL1.

I hear ya...my situation is pretty sad too. I sold my 2019 ZLE right before prices really took off...then after a year of bitching the wife finally said I better get another one because she's sick of hearing about it. You probably know the story of trying to find one these days. Everything was sold, in transit (and still sold), no more 22 orders expected to go through, etc. I'm sorry to say I finally just caved and bought a 22 that was on a lot at an embarrassing markup because I can afford it and I want the car (and will actually keep it this time). GM loaning out free (0%) money didn't hurt either.

Now the problem is the car is 1500 miles away and could be 8 weeks before the shipper can pick it up and bring it to me...

I have had a ZL1 convertible on order since September that has yet to be picked (SC). Has there been an official date for end of MY22, start of MY23 production?

New 2023 orders should start 4/7 if it falls the same as last year. I have not had this verified by my salesman as of yet.

I don't think most realize the war is going to push chip constraints in to 2024 potentially. Ukraine is the biggest global producer of neon gas used to etch semiconductor boards..anything with a chip will see delays due to limited availability. I cancelled my 1LE order and found one in dealer stock when the war broke out FWIW.

I work in IT. I am well aware of the additional mess this brings about. However, trying to find a ZL1 convertible at a dealer is not easy either. Unless I want a 2018 with 20k miles for 71k. I will just stick it out with my 2016 2ss until the order gets picked.

Makes you wonder if these constraints continue with them killing the car will they just build out what they have and end production of the Camaro early. These are unprecedented times and the race is on for watt power, i think we on here care far more about a low demand ICE coupe than Mary Barra shifting her company green.

I have another question about constraints for you if you don’t mind. Since the ZL1 was constrained this week, does that mean none got “allocated” (1100->2000) or none got “accepted to production” (2000->3000)? Thanks!

I have to be honest, I feel very fortunate that it only took 8 weeks to get mine in. Add to that the fact that the dealership gave me employee discount pricing. Having said that, I gave up a nice unicorn to get my ZL1. My SS Sedan had about 38K miles on it and was pretty much garage kept. Hell, I would wager that the paint on my 2016 was in better shape than the 2022 ZL1 that I traded for (more of a sad commentary on how the manufacturing process/dealer prep process is than my upkeep of my 2016). Sadly, there are a lot of micro-scratches on my ZL1 that I have tried to clean up with some polishing compounds. I have talked to the dealership about the scratches and the paint imperfections but am wondering if I really trust them with my car at this point.

What I keep telling people is that they need to have something that the dealership wants as a trade-in so that they can put on their used car lot and mark up the bejesus out of it. Last I looked, my $41K trade in sold for about $48K. I figure the employee discount saved me about $6K so I was ok with the relatively lowball trade-in (especially since the transmission had been acting weird lately on my SS Sedan and since I paid about $39K for it back in 2016). Going in with some sort of leverage will definitely help.
