Henry David Thoreau actually coined the term PDR in 1851. He used it as shorthand for Public Display of Reflection. I think the underlying issue in this thread is angst created by Chevrolet's blatant plagiarism. So really, if you can't use PDR to see yourself, is it worth the money?

Thanks guys. You convinced me to skip those two.
At the beginning - Oct 2021 I was die hard "I want XYZ and I will wait for it!". Fast forward last weekend - started to doubt things, created this thread. Reserved Riverside blue ZL1 with red "stuff" inside. And today I pulled a trigger on a car which only lacks one thing - my dream color. Now I think it is for the better - too much attention, for a daily. SHE'S HOME!!!!!!!!! I am so happy, and anxious to be done with breaking period! ![]() ![]() ![]()

Good for you.

Something was wrong with yours. Or maybe all of them after 2017 sucked. Because mine is awesome AF. Sorry to hear that. My sig is enough to show what I can "afford". Quote:
Yet you have it on your car. I'm sorry that you paid extra for options and were obviously given defective parts. My GPS works perfectly and I never updated it. I have no idea what you're typing in yours or even if you know how to use it properly. Because there is no way on God's green Earth that you set your home address and it sent you to an open field. Guess what pal, when you get to your home, you set that particular location as "home" or whatever you want to call it and it will direct you to that location each and every time. So you did not use yours properly. At all. So in your case perhaps an easier to use and more user friendly device is suitable. Because you can put a dime in a field and if it has an address my stock Nav will put my right tire on top of it. |

The back and forth in this thread is...awkward. Grown adults bickering and showing off. Unbecoming.
FWIW, I wanted the PDR as I track my vehicles, but I wouldn't have received an allocation in 22 if I didn't give up the option. I will have to purchase a catalyst or something similar to replace it. I have previously used the TrackAddict app with a OBD dongle and that worked pretty well. |

This is the same argument for navigation. Why would I want the shitty nav provided by GM when I can have Google Maps with constant Google updates? If you just want to make some fun videos for YouTube and brag to your friends you've been to a racetrack, any factory PDR will do it with the lowest level of effort since they pre-render the graphics. If you're trying to improve as a driver past a certain extent, you need a standalone system that you can upgrade as newer tech comes out. Plus, my Catalyst works on my motorcycle as well. I can't exactly tow my ZL1 behind my racebike.
