That said the convertible top can be operated from the key fob, which lowers all windows as well. I'd be curious on what sort of wiring or computer logic would be necessary to have that button operate the sunroof. Although you'd still not know if it was open or closed without looking. I seldom remembered to look up at the sunroof on my previous car to verify it's position. Over a couple of decades I've not been able to train myself to do it when I've had sunroof equipped vehicles. The 'vert and t-tops are impossible to not notice, so they always get closed/latched. Thankfully, most of the time when I park, I look back at the car and hit the lock button to verify the security of the vehicle. Innumerable times I was walking back to the car, jump in and close that darn sunroof. If it was fob operable, it'd add a layer of convenience. Doesn't help for the times when I'm in a rush or otherwise distracted, and those tended to be the days it rained, they decided to mow the lawn, or power blow the dust and dirt off the parking lot. Lots of debris manages to make it through that slight opening when sitting still for 9 hours. |

Had a sunroof on my 2012 2ss rs ls3 camaro. It only looked good nothing more. Too small to give open top feel, sunlight in your face and eyes sometimes. Headroom was also an issue and had to deal with a rattle coming out of the sunroof. Ordered my 22 2ss 1le without it and will have no regrets.

Personally, I don’t have an issue remembering to close it since I pull the shade after parking and it won’t close if the top is open.
I do miss T-tops. That was one joy of the IROC; after work cruise home, tops off. Some classic rock or hair bands cranked. Lots of thumbs up on that car. From the versions of T’s on the 5th and 6th gen that I’ve seen though, I’ll skip them for this design

I have had 3 different Gen6 camaros and had sunroofs in all of them. I really like the sunroof, it opens up the cabin a lot. On nice days I push the button and let the outside in!

I have had 2 gen 5s and this is my second gen6. The gens 5s all had sunroofs and my first gen 6 did not. This was one of the primary reasons I purchased my second gen6. When it is warm out in the evening or early morning, I keep it open. It is very airy and in Mass works much better than having a vert. When driving during the day it brightens the interior when the sunroof is closed. Between the sunroof and the Kalahari interior the interior feels much less claustrophobic than my previous black interior no sunroof 2018 2SS.

I need sunroof. Makes it more airy and open feeling/more light. I open it for airflow in the summer. I do need A/C some of the time in the summer (20 hours of sunlight at low angle heats objects and buildings to some pretty amazing hot temps), but a lot of the time windows and sunroof open is perfect. Plus, it kind of adds to the black-on-white theme of my car.

To get my Camaro with the fewest possible options in the color I wanted, black over black, I had to get one with a sunroof, as it was the best deal available at the time. I only use A/C on very hot days, so the tilt-open does help with wind roar when the windows are down.
The external slide-back design means that it only exposes ~80% of the opening when fully open, and that's best when the sun can shine in directly...for 2-3 hours in the middle of the day...I have a full head of hair btw, so I don't melt. The best of both worlds though, is a retractable hardtop like on the C8 Vette. So I do like sunroofs, but it's not deal-breaker for me if there isn't one. |

Not a deal breaker but I dont really like a hole in my roof.
We drove a 2021 hard top with sunroof and our 2020 vert. From a performance perspective I dont like verts and prefer no sunroof. But this is a cruzer and a fair weather DD for my wife who has wanted a vert for years. Both cars were 2ss. The coup had magnetic ride and the coups have the additional rear diff cooler so the coup was the better car performance wise. Oddly the coup had the stock seats while the vert came with Recaros. Thats salesmen ordering cars with stuff they think will sell... as if its a mini SUV or something. My wife is 5'2" and the Recaros slid farther forward. Both cars were M-6 and she was more comfortable in the Recaro pushing the clutch to the floor. So we have the vert. If I was ordering a Camaro ground up it would be a 1LE and no holes in the roof at all.

I came close to something like that in my ‘87 when the center t-top rail rotted out and finally let go. Had to take the T’s off and get it home. My mom had a ‘92 Vette that she didn’t latch properly and the top launched when she was going down the road. Said that it came down behind here and, remarkably, didn’t shatter. She went back and grabbed it. Think she still has it in her garage lol.

I daily drove my ZL1 and had the sunroof opened a majority of that time. Highly prefer and recommend a sunroof. I could go without if the car is just for weekends or if I ever opt for ZL1 1LE.

sunroofs always look like afterthoughts. breaking up the lines and literally adding a hole to the roof. no thanks.
i've never bought a car with a sunroof and never will.
