Anybody know what DOC ID# 50017432 is?

2019+ is fine.. You're going to have random oil pump falures in any year. 2017 and 2018 had a consistent trend of failures.

Or maybe there aren't enough '19+ cars out there with 12,000+ miles for a good sample population

Glad I have a 6 year extended warranty that's all I can say

Any chance the car was built in 2020 but the LT4 is from an earlier build that had a earlier pump? Did the part number ever change on these pumps?

Mechanical failures are going to happen and these people are going to search the web and join this forum. The numbers for all the failures are still pretty low. Most of us are still under warranty just enjoy the car.

Just for kicks - is it easy to replace a pump DIY?

Basically you have to take apart the front suspension to get at the pump. Once at the pump, it's a swap. Seals and gaskets. You should also take down the oil pan and check for debris or evidence of such and check for evidence of damage at rockers. You will need a lift and a good set of tools.

We don't need no stinkin' lift... or more to the point, I don't have no stinkin' lift.

Tools I'm fine, I'm not a rookie. Can spot fill what I don't have.

Also it'd be proactive as it's a '17 with 15k on it. 5/50 is up in May so hoping it blows before then.

I had mine replaced before it blew, with a Katech unit. It was $3,200 in labor, pump was $500.

Sounds like a damn good reason to DIY this thing...
