Interestingly enough, even though I've had the ZL1 for all of 3 weeks, I get less attention in it than I did when I drove my SS Sedan. I suspect it's as has been mentioned, you an see a Camaro at just about every corner, but my SS Sedan was relatively unique, even more so when I'd start it or get on the throttle (LS3 goodness out of what looked like a rental car made people go WTF?).

I do notice a couple of things about the Camaro, people have no problem with rubbernecking when they know that they're being obvious, where with the SS Sedan people would look and when they saw you they'd act nonchalant about it. I also notice that other Camaro owners will sometimes slow down around you. I rarely look over to see if they're waving or giving thumbs up, but I do notice them.

I was running BC coilovers, dropped it about 2 inches front and rear. Traded it before the new wheels came in, which are Advan GT Beyonds, 20x9.5 +20 front and 20x11 +34 rear. Once they get here in a few months, they'll be going on the ZLE. A little narrower than the ZLE stock wheels but I like them and it's too late to cancel the order lol.

I had to go by the Nissan dealership this morning to pick up a part for my Z. I drove the 1LE. I backed into the space in front of the dealership beside the handicapped space. When I got out of the car all the salesman were standing by the front window checking out my car. When I walked in the building they all tried to play it cool and not say anything. As soon as I walked in I headed for the parts department.

After I ran some errands, I was pulling out of my parking space just as another Camaro (same color but RS trim) was parking. Drove by as he was getting out, and out of what limited peripherals I have in the Camaro, I could see his head tracking my car as I drove by.

At a local convenience store a side by side revved so I revved back. He then peeled out of the parking lot.

Every time I take my ZL1 to the gas station, at least 2 people want to look at it or ask me questions about it.

And of course, I occasionally use it to pick up my 15 year old from High School. There are always teens gawking at it.

On the day that the picture below was taken, it was my first day driving a CTF ZL1. My kids were in high school. I still hadn’t figured out how to pop the trunk so when I pulled up to the front of the school to pick up my kids I had to shut the car off and get out to open the trunk. When we got in and I started the car, the campus looked like an EF Hutton commercial (older guys will get the reference). Life came to a standstill and all eyes were on the Camaro.

Guy in a Ram truck pulled up beside me at a stoplight and started counting with his fingers like he wanted to race. My windows were down so I gave him a thumbs up. Then he rolled down his window and started laughing about racing and then said nice car. He of course was kidding about racing.
