Had the carpet replaced in my '18 ZLE, BUT.... (anyone done the interior/carpet b4?)

So, picked up this '18 ZLE which very obviously used to have a cage in it. Dealer agreed to replace the carpet as a condition of me buying it (OEM carpet from GM/Chevy). Took it in a couple days ago, and they replaced the carpet (as well as "fixing" some curb rash, and not very well at that). I noticed last night when attempting to pull the plastic off that the carpet pulls up in front of the front seats (back carpet drop ins appear to be ok). So I start to poke the floor and found that its kind of "baggy" right in front of the seats, as well as at the side going up to the illuminated door seals (like if I poke where the floor meets the vertical portion of the door sill/"wall", the "wall" will move in and out.
Its annoying the hell out of me already.

Its as if there should have been adhesive placed on the drop-in/molded carpet that wasn't added.

So, I'm just curious, can anyone give me some insight as to whats usually involved in replacing the carpet in these? Should there be adhesive underneath?

My 2022 ZL1 I took delivery on 2/8 has a lump where the front and rear carpet meet next to driver's seat and up to the sill plate too. Not great, but it's not unexpected either. GM quality or lack thereof.

That actually makes me feel a bit better at least. The original carpet didn't have the same issue, but thought it was strange I could poke the carpet and watch it bounce back (so, clear spacing between the floor and actual carpet).

I don't think I have looked at the carpet ever...black carpet is tough to see problems. Most cars (except ultra luxury) have crappy carpet and fitment.

Do you have any photos? I ripped out old carpet from my 2000 explorer and installed all new carpeting myself and had to trim it to fit perfectly and such, no adhesion or glue used, and it fit very good, no weird bunched up or baggy spots... I'd think a dealer install of OEM carpet should be equivalent to that or better.. maybe they half a$$ fit it?

UPDATE:

This thread prompted me to fix mine. A little WELDWOOD Contact Cement and drying overnight, and my carpet looks fine. Identical to passenger side which was ok to begin with.

Perfect!

They are drop-ins/form fitted carpet. I'd think they'd match up exactly; hell even the holes are done on them for the screws for seats and such I think.

You wouldn't be able to tell from photos, and I'm not sure if I can upload videos to here. A video is easy to show it.
