I flew from Florida to New Hampshire in Dec of 2016 to take delivery of my 2017 Grand Sport on a Friday morning. I was sitting back in FLA driveway Sunday night. This is the most ridiculous thread ever. I'm LMAO.

Seems like a waste of money to me. You're going to put miles on the car that you are worried about AND are paying to have the vehicle transported. I would do one or the other but not both.

AAA has already been paid for. The car may have issues on the way home.

It's going to be hard for me to not drive hard and fast as I typically do for longer trips and I want to do the break in procedure correctly.

No hating from me either way, we all have our reasons, but you have to admit it's a bit puzzling to not want to drive the car 300 miles when most of us can't wait to drive ours, and would die to drive it thousands of miles

I still say drive it back the whole way, you'll be glad you did

I was mostly concerned with being able to manage the break in correctly as suggested in the manual but it sounds like it shouldn't be a big deal. The varying speed shouldn't be a big deal but then others brought up the heat cycling.

Just want to do it right is all and likely over thought the situation as I sometimes do. No beef here.

I've read through that before but why wouldn't I get the car detailed? The car I'm looking to get is by the beach and has sand in certain crevices, certainly asked for that shit to be cleaned out prior to delivery.

i worked for a AAA contractor in college a long time ago. AAA provides emergency roadside service. they dont have to tow your car home 200 miles because you dont want to drive it yourself. That truck is going to be out of the area/occupied for 8+ hours. they very well may deny you, or you may end up waiting hours to get a truck to you.

i would just drive it home.

Correct, it would be considered a convenience tow and will not be covered, but who's to say the car didn't go into limp mode or start to overheat?
