I mean modified exhaust is illegal in Florida too.

The takeover kids hate that citation.

Yea I know, but I haven't heard of anybody wanting to do THAT yet. I guess the ricer guys just want to be heard, and us muscle car guys just want to hear our cams.. lol. They pretty much leave us alone.

Roll Tide! Thank God for Alabama! We may marry our sisters, give ammo as presents and eat roadkill, but our cars can be as loud as we want.

Not exactly.

Not as restrictive as it is here but it definitely isn't a free for all.

It’s absolutely a “free for all”. You can Google all the traffic codes you want to pal, it doesn’t mean shit. There are plenty of people running NoWeeds, cut outs, open headers, no cats and god knows what else all over the place. Loud car laws in Alabama….ain’t even a suggestion.

It's the same way here. Chances are you won't get stopped just for it and it's tolerated to some degree, but we still do cite for it, especially with the street racers and takeover kids.

I only spent a couple of days in the Decatur area, some of the FRIENDLIEST people I've ever interacted with.

BTW, this is not a new law in NY. Its been in the books for at least two decades. The cops would not enforce it unless they see you breaking another law in your car.
