Brake noise

Is anyone experiencing brake noise when applying the brakes to stop during normal driving on their 2018 ZL1 Camaro? The car stops fine but has that annoying brake squeal.

Happened on my SS Sedan after about 4000 miles. This is the cost of having great brakes. I swapped my OEMs for some Power Stop Z26 Street Warrior Brakes with drilled/slotted rotors and the noise was still there. About the only thing that helped is there was a lot less brake dust on the wheels. Stopping distances weren't reduced. I figure if I want the same stopping power as OEMs with less dusting and noise, it's going to cost me quite a bit. I remember asbestos brakes being real quiet, but we all know what happened to asbestos.

i just give the car a good hard braking every so often to get rid of the squeal from 30 or so.

Obviously, doing it when no one is near you.

Yes just do a couple aggressive stops from a pretty good speed and it will go away. It happen when I’m doing soft braking around town. Soon as I get into it goes away..

This noise was gone once I bedded the brakes properly.

Had the exact same noise on my OEM 4-piston setup and my current 6-piston 1LE setup, and the same "treatment" worked well. I love these brakes and don't give a rat's *** about brake dust, wheel cleaning is therapeutic.

Never have that problem with the OEM pads, but I often leave my Ferodo DS 1.11 on after track events and those are loud as hell.

Stock pads: no.
Powerstop Z26 pads: yes first stop of the day when cold. After that they are quiet.

Assume you just followed typical procedure, getting the car to 55 or so and braking hard a few times as needed?

Yes. I did it in two stages: first, a couple of 60 to 30 decelerations with moderate brake pressure to put a bit of heat into them, then the same number (I think 10-ish) of hard near stops from 60 to 10-15, followed by a cooldown for a few miles without any braking at all.

Finding a safe route to do this isn't trivial, that's for sure.
