Not sure I understand why you did it with a warranty but if it brings you enjoyment or makes you feel better that’s all that matters. Enjoy the car.

Prevention of failure seemed more important than a warranty fix at an inopportune time. I wasn't going to get the pump replaced, until last fall, the failures moved right into my build date and mileage.

I completely understand, what I meant was the cost itself wasn't outrageous considering the amount of labor, yet feels a lot for no actual improvement but only peace of mind.

We are not all alike, though, and I can understand and respect your decision, it's your forever Camaro after all

Your car is right in the failure sweet spot in terms of build date and mileage. The pump is at the front of the crank, so the front of the engine has to be taken apart. The dealer charged me $3200 in labor to put in the Katech pump for me.

No. They are very easy to work with. They have added almost all my aftermarket parts for me. They will have my back if there is a problem.

They started building the 19’s the month after yours was built, I’m sure your fine.

I hear there was a valve issue similar to the LS7 and LS9 discovered with the LT4 (possibly LT1 too, but not sure on that).
