Does the front end of the 2021 Hellcat widebody look similar to a 2017 ZL1 ?

I won't say which one I made up., since being hard to figure out which is fake makes a point in itself.

there will be a certain percentage of people that switch to electric cars, but unless i am forced to switch i wont be among them.not that the tech isnt appealing, but at my age i dont intend to buy many more new cars.im sure that once they become more plentiful charging wont be as cheap, and road tax per mile may be levied...

The Biden administration just announced 5 billion in charging stations along highways over next 5 years. Tax dollars at work!

Dumb question, do all electric cars use the same type of charger or is it like iPhone and Android and they use different ones

Sounds about right.... EVERY topic is framed this way now-a-days.
The only point I wish the "anti EV" crowd would grasp is they simply WILL NOT BE appliances/toasters. Some will be but so is a Corolla for crying out loud.

GM has some of the VERY BEST ride and handling engineers. I've worked closely with some and have seen the results of their work over the years. Get on the 7 sisters and R&H loops and you will quickly see why the Camaro and Corvette are so good, and you would also see that some cars the press has adored are literally scary to drive. These engineers are currently working to make sure that GM's EVs are of the very best handling cars on the road. For some reason the "anti EV" crowd seems to believe that when ICEs go away GM will just fire the R&H team and move on. It's just very simply not what's happening. Does anyone really believe GM will come out with a CT4/5 replacement that is boring to drive? If the "anti EV" crowd needs to believe this for their narrative to work, then I feel bad for them. Those replacements for ICEs will be very exciting to drive, quietly yes. Boring? NOPE.

If you miss the NVH of an ICE, I get that. I've said many times I used to remote start my SS in the morning standing behind the car. just the hear it. It's one of the things I miss about that car. But I also recognize the end of the ICE is at hand. Improvements are incremental at best and exponentially expensive to achieve. It's at hand regardless of what some think is simply government mandate/intervention. It's just ultimately going to be a better solution, IMO. One of the magazines just did a cross country road trip in a Taycan. They spent something like 2 1/2 hours charging for the entire trip. I know I spend at least an hour at gas and food stops on a 1200 mile trip to Florida so 2 1/2 hours charging for a 2500 mile trip is very reasonable. And people are working and investing every day to make that even shorter.

And one of the biggest reasons everyone is going hard to EVs is simply Tesla Stock Price. Every board wants their stock price to go up and up and up. And that may be the biggest failure by the OEMs, chasing stock price with EVs if the adoption rate isn't as fast as their production ramp ups.

Me, we are considering an EV for our next vehicle. Either a Bolt EUV or a VW/Audi (nice having 2 discounts ). But that is considering, not planning.

And you your feelings of how this will play out does not make it any less political. It is very political and it has a lot of people on edge.

I am not anti-EV at all. The only reason I am not looking at an EV for my next car is the fact I took out a lease in 2019 and the buyout is insanely cheap for 2022 standards.

I plan to buy a 2023/2024 SS too, so eventually I will have the best of both worlds. An EV for commuting, and a V8 for enjoyment.

Human being's tendency is to move towards new technologies that are superior and available, that makes me excited for the future of EV's, but also unhappy that the government is forcing it on their timeline instead of letting the market be free and evolve naturally...because it absolutely would.

if cost /availability was no object id drive a 2 door sports EV right now.however im recently retired, watching as the price of everything goes up daily, and have two fairly decent and reliable cars,2015 camaro RS and the wifes 2018 honda civic coupe, which BTW is more fun to drive than one might suspect.i dont really care about the motor noise and cam shake....would be ok with 4 second 0-60 runs and 300 mile range.

I'm Anti EV and have no plan to change in the near future, I'm not going to say I will never own one as Never is a long time but you get the idea.

I'm not going to say I don't understand the move to EV's or Hybrid vehicles, but what I don't understand is the all or nothing move to EV's road we are on now, and how if you object to the current narrative you are anti-environment.

I can only think it like back in the 80's when we moved from RWD to FWD there was this push on this, FWD was better for winter driving Blah Blah you get the idea. I wasn't big on that as well, working at a GM Dealer in Brampton as this time I seen 1st hand what was good and bad with FWD, John Logan in Brampton made a lot of money off these cars they were good for business, cheaper to make more to fix and didn't last as long as their RWD counter parts.

So with the move to Electric cars with no options other than them, is bothersome in my mind, working for years in Civil Engineering projects I see many roadblocks in the future of EV vehicles, here are some of the issues that I see some have been brought up before.

Charging EV's time taken to charge, Lack of charging stations, the more EV's on the road the more this will become an issue.
More EV's on the road the less governments will get from Fuel Revenues (Canadian Fed Gov makes 6 Billion Provincial Government's 10 Billion Yearly) one of the options that some states have adopted is 1.5-1.8 cents per mile for EV's (they will need to implement something like this for all EV's just no other way to cover the lost revenue)
More Electric Power plants will need to be built plus infrastructure to upgrade grids in older area's which will increase hydro costs.
Be able to dispose of batteries as they hit their end cycle, not sure if colder climates will impact Batteries life cycle more than more moderate climates.
Not sure if this will be an issue but how many jobs will be lost vs created with the move from ICE to EV's all the local garages, parts suppliers and transmission shops etc.

Just a few of my takes on it

I agree with you Rocket which is why I am considering the last model year 6th gen Camaro to buy and then not worry about vehicle purchases for a long time cept maybe a truck for trailer towing but that is it. Staying out of the EV game for a long time.

This nails it pretty well. I have the Camaro on order for fun and a Cruze as a daily right now, but I fully expect to replace the Cruze with an EV in the future. Cheaper to run, quieter, no oil changes, less brake wear, easier to drive. I’ll always love the engineering in ICEs but their time is over.
