Been down a ton of times. That's gonna be a slow snoozefest, but cool with a large group of enthusiasts I suppose. Not sure where you'd fit 700 cars anywhere in the area though. The Tapoco lodge sure can't handle it, neither than the dragon store, lol

This and that is why I won't go. And it is only a few hours away.

I wouldn't even register. I'd just show up and fall in line. What's he gonna do?

"HEY!"

Folks don't be so harsh. That $100.00 also gets you two t-shirts and some stickers!

There are a lot of great winding roads in the Smokies besides the famous tail of the dragon. I found miles of great driving on my way from Knoxville to Raleigh-Durham.

Not gonna get more specific than that...just explore for yourselves.

Yup, a couple right in our backyard. The only problem is invariably getting stuck behind the occasional slow driver. These roads are also technical, there is practically no shoulder even when brand new pavement is laid, but turns are often tilted properly for higher speeds. 55 mph speed limits on winding mountain roads FTW, enough said

The day I went exploring there (it was a weekday in May), there were no drivers, never mind slow drivers. What a blast!

I was down there twice when I had my Evo IX, around 2008 and 2010 or so, and I agree; while the actual Tail of the Dragon is fantastic, there are a ton of great driving roads all throughout the area. Hoping I can get back down there once I get my Camaro, if not this year, than next.
