Stop pulling crude out of the ground and almost the entirety of modern life is over as we know it. We will all be back to the 1880's.
Calling people pushing for EV's and minimizing unnecessary fossil fuel usage "retards"...that's a pro move.

i just think we arent there yet to were the tech and infrastructure makes it worth it for a daily. idk if i will ever be on board with an ev as a fun car but we will see.
The first Tesla vehicle was $109K, you can now get a model 3 for $45K. Once the larger manufacturers start mass producing these vehicles, the prices will plummet.

Yup. The government crashes the automotive industry and the US economy for "carbon" while China and India spew an ever increasing amount into the atmosphere, while simultaneously trashing the oceans with massive amounts of plastic pollution.

One might think the destruction of the US is on purpose.......

I don't know about u but a lipo fire in rc goes up quicker than nitro from my experience. Maybe a car will have some casing around it.

Thanks. The government wants us off oil, and they are using their coercive powers to push us in that direction, despite what the people want. Everything government touches is turned to shit, so I rest my case.

"despite what the people want" - what do "the people" want, exactly?

I don’t know of anyone advocating not continuing to draw crude. Most people realize that anything plastic or rubber requires oil. What people are advocating is to stop emitting carbon from burning it into the atmosphere. Which, if you think about it, means more of each barrel produced can be diverted to other uses, like jet fuel, plastics, and rubber.

Can we get this thread back on track? There’s tons of other threads dedicated to kvetching about EVs.

This. Send oil to places it's better used for, not freaking leisure sports cars and stuff.

He's listening to the narrative he wants to hear, it's ok.

What's more idiotic are the States that are pushing for EVs but they don't realize that the power grid won't be able to handle the load.

Do they not understand how much power would be consumed if, let's say, 100,000 EVs are plugged into the grid at the same time? Let alone over 1 million? That's on top of everyone having their AC units on, washers and dryers running and so on. Doesn't Cali already have rolling blackouts in the summer?

I don't mind the EV progress but don't force it onto us and not realize the power grid isn't going to handle it or that there will need to be a crap room of charging stations installed at parking lots for apartments, restaurants, etc.

Geez, this thread got derailed....

Knowing full-well I'll be paying a small fortune for fuel in the future. And also knowing and accepting that fossil fuel-based cars are dying. It is what it is.

I also pre-ordered the Silverado EV First Edition today. What do I win?

Nobody is forcing anyone to sell anything. That's kinda the beauty of this. You're making it seem like people are being coerced by the big bad G-Men to immediately sell off their ICE vehicles for EVs right now.

You're not. You can keep it as long as you'd like, and for as long as you're willing to pay the fossil fuel prices.

Ill sell my Camaro when I'm ready to sell it. Just like you can. I imagine you'll be long dead before ICE vehicles are banned. Settle down.
