I would think if it had oil changes at what is deemed pertinent intervals for breakin or even for track, and it was well documented, with no unusual indicators, the reasonable care the car got shouldn't affect the condition or saleability of the car, especially if you know of the background somewhat. This would be the best scenario. Anything less that could cast doubt, I would investigate.
Can't be verified,...walk away. |

SS owners may drive the cars faster at times, because the SS has more power. But most of the time, the engine is less stressed - you just can't drive an SS at wide open throttle as often as you can in a V6. I would tend to think the SS doesn't get pushed as hard on the street for that reason. I have a V6 and am WOT much more often than I could be if I had an SS.
But in any event, 30k street miles on any decent engine is very low miles. I would be more concerned about making sure the car hasn't experienced an accident, flooding, or a theft. Not all events get reported to the Carfax database. Unless you're an expert, I recommend getting a pre-purchase inspection from a qualified technician. |

For the last probably 10 cars I've owned I've had very few powertrain issues. The reason I got rid of them is because of all the other minor things that started wearing out and taking up my time addressing, mostly just due to age.

I had a 2018 1ss 62,000 miles, just the A8 shudder. Dealer fixed no issue or problems there after. I have a 2016 2ss 82,000 miles no issues at all.

This is one of GM best engine, the A8 has had some issues. Just because people in this forum baby the car out of admiration for it doesn’t mean the engine cannot handle the miles.

2017 manual, 47k miles and still pulls like a freight train. Regular maintenance and so far zero problems (knock on wood). February of 22’ the power train runs out, then it’s time to mod or try to convince the wife to let me get a new Z06 haha.
