For now, until they connect their systems to manufacturers' and start checking for ECM write counts.

Blah this thread has made me sad haha, i was looking forward to the Maggie, but it just seems the money to HP ratio isn’t there. And living in California i won’t be able to utilize the magnuson to it’s full potential

Unfortunately living in California your hands are tied as far as modding a car. Maybe trade the car in on something with more power if that's what your after and use the money you would've spent on the Maggie as a down-payment for whatever you get.

I doubt the new ECU has anything to do with the gains they got. The new ECU is just non-programmable which is a bad thing. We do all know the gains achieved by a standard Kong ported blower at this point. What I haven't seen is someone add a Kong X ported blower to an otherwise stock ZL1 and see if the gains are the same as what the Blackwing achieved. The X port is relatively new and not for everyone.

If this were the case, it would certainly explain some of the gains.

The new ECU has a much wider range of authority than the older style.

The new ECU is absolutely programmable. OTA, in fact. It's just not accessible to the end-use/aftermarket community. Yet. Most tuners acknowledge it will never be tunable. It contacts GM on a regular basis and runs diagnostics/checksums on functions.

Uhh, not accessible to the aftermarket is exactly what I meant. Does us no good if it's not accessible to the aftermarket.

The other thing everybody is probably wanting to ask is, how much do you want for your Magnuson 2650? Lol. Good luck OP. I hope you find a way to utilize that beauty..
