Dyno Numbers in on NA build.

Dyno today and reached 526 HP and 465 TQ on pump 93 GAS. The Direct Injection 200 shot of NOS will come in handy on the drag strip. Will try road course this summer without the NOS of course. E85 should add 30-35 more to the numbers hopefully.

Stage One build complete:

Stock heads ported by Katech
TSP EL-7 cam /660 Springs/ Smith Brothers Kit/ BTR Push rods
95mm TB LS7 lifters ATI Damper
Spec P trim clutch
TSP 1 7/8 headers/ceramic coated (No Cats)
LT2 Manifold with NX Express direct injection NOS
Diamond Pistons, Manley connecting Rods
Stand alone fuel system/fuel pump for NOS



Stage Two:
Will be tuning for E85 over the winter months with high side LT4 fuel pump installed plus LT4 injectors. G-force half shafts & drive shaft. ( Lucky the 1LE comes with the ZL1 low side fuel pump.)


Stage Three:
Pro-charger just before spring.


This is a two year build and will be so happy when done.
Side note: I put my air filter intake upfront just behind the grille to avoid the engine bay heat and did a custom 4 inch piping. Also relocated overflow tank in order to check plugs on passenger side to make it easier on NOS runs to check plugs.

any baseline numbers? get it on the track before they close.

i'm surprised it didn't carry per any better up top.

Negative on the base line numbers, i took the heads off my self in my garage and sent them to katech. Then towed car to shop. Just standard numbers for a stock SS, i was more surprised the TQ was farther apart then the HP. It is what it is, we always would like more. But, car sounds great and very happy with it. Maybe the E85 will carry it farther up top on next tune. There's a dip up top at the end then comes back a bit more up, tuner said he needs more time to straighten that out then we ran out of time on dyno.

Those are great numbers for an NA engine. The torque is nice and flat and you've got excellent horsepower at high RPM. If the Dynojet dyno is calibrated correctly, then I'd say it will perform very nicely on the road-course. Great job!

Oh man that sounds good! I remember watching the video of your other car going down the rabbit hole of car videos. It wasn’t until after I bought my car and started reading the forum more regularly that I realized it was yours in the video. You know my friend and I both have 6th gens and right now we are what we call FBO. Seeing this is never good for the wallet!

are you using a dished piston? reliefs? what head gasket? factory chamber on the katech ported heads?

i presume the tb will stay the same given your plans to add a procharger?

My heads are shaved and I decided to go with GM Performance Gasket. Staying with GM 95mm LT4 TB, yes factory chamber. CNC Ported inside and out plus hand ported. New value job with brass, smith brothers kit, 660 springs and set up to race specs.

I plan on spraying it after I do a few more upgrades, sadly not till the upcoming spring. I have to do the E85 tune too, so NA power should increase. No rush with this two year build, trying to do it right and as safe as possible. Need the driveshaft and rear G Forces half shafts in before I hit the NOS hard. Plus going to put a Magnus Slipper Clutch Valve in so I don't shock the drive train. You can adjust the slipper with the blue knob in order to perfect your launches and it improves your 60 '.
