I have owned a 16 2SS A8 MRC, 18 2SS M6 and 2020 1LE 2SS M6. My wife has driven Honda's since 2002 so I know them and like them a lot.
The 2SS level is enough for a street driver but optioning up to NPP, MRC and premium wheels... pushes the msrp higher. My 16 was just shy of $50k. The 1LE gets you the front splitter, NPP, MRC and the best brakes, rims and tires for not much more. The 1LE also has a presence that the 2SS lacks and I feel the resale will be better. I like the Civic Type R -a lot- and have had nothing but good experience with Hondas that I bought new and ran to 120k miles. The look is too 20s to early 30s IMO. I sat in one also and at 6'4", 208 lbs, the Camaro fit is much more comfortable.

Hot lap I think obviously it’s worth giving up a touch of plushness if u can go with a 2SS1LE, it’s got it all.
The constant debate is 1SS 1LE vs 2SS npp mrc as they’re about $1,000 from each other I would agree the 1LE seems to hold its value better. Although the 2SS trim makes the car just a bit nicer, especially if driving DD. Or a 2SS npp a bit cheaper.

Even split for the SS vs the 1LE at the moment.
A couple questions one of you guys can probably easily answer. Same Tremec 6-speed and final gear ratios in the SS and the 1LE? Same shifter? |

Tremec is the same. The shifter is shorter ...and noticeably so having gone from a SS M6 to 1LE M6

To me the SS 1LE is a waste if the car will never see a road course. Just get the 2SS and be done with it.
With that being said, the Civic is the far superior do-it-all car. From winter driving, to cargo hauling, to people hauling, etc. I know you have a second car, but the Civic could be a great winter car as well with the proper tires. |

I'd get a 1SS and be done with it b/c I hate leather. Then again I'd never use a gas guzzler like a Camaro as a daily nor a Civic Type-R unless my commute had no stop and go.

I realize these are second or third cars for most of the people on this site. I've BTDT before and it's just not something I'm likely to do again. As far as the 1LE being a waste for a daily, it's a pretty damn incredible value IMO. The only thing that gives me pause is the Recaro's. They're super comfortable and fit me well, so it's more the entry/exit of the vehicle I'm concerned about. Once I add NPP, Brembo's and a couple other options to the 1SS I'm quite close to the 1LE price. I'd rather drive my new car than admire it in the garage. |

Yep, you have that right… I’m moving on to my third 6th Gen Camaro. This one will hopefully be a bit more flexible / meet my needs so I can drive it almost all year long. Looking at a car parked for months is depressing…. |
