It was build just before the shutdown(3800 9/3). As soon as they opened last week, it was on a train and delivered in 8 days. Not bad.

You have to wonder how volatile this supply situation is when Chevy issues TPW dates and then announce plant closures soon after for those dates. It’s like they don’t even know from one day to the next when they may need to close the plant. Seeing all those cargo ships stacked up in ports all along the coast with no end in sight is pretty scary, and not just for the auto industry.

Now that I finally have a TPW I really hope the plant will stay open but it’s pretty clear I’m going to have to hold my breath until it’s built. Crazy times we’re living in.

over in another thread, DylansZLE posted the current constraints for the Camaro.

Currently constraints on 2SS, 3LT, ZL1 coupes or convertibles and a couple of other things due to supplier restrictions and the length of the constraint is "TBD."

Constraints, as I understand it, apply to orders under 2000 status. Once your order is accepted and at 2000 or above it doesn’t apply.

I think it’s related to GM just-in-time processes. At 2000 or above all of the parts to build your car are already on hand or in the pre-assembly process.

Becomes even more solid at 3400 status when your order has been sequenced. At that point even if there is a work stoppage your car will be built in the same order.

Nice!! Did they give you the actual build date? Assuming it was yesterday because I think it only updates overnight. Either way, for the rest of us w/ 10/18 TPWs, this is EXCELLENT news. Also good that you're in the same area as me - more vehicles headed to DFW at the same time means they should be able to arrange transport more quickly.

Congrats!

Actual build date was yesterday 10/14.. been a long process ordered 1st day in April could but dealer didn’t get allocation until 9/02 and is one of the largest (if not largest) volume dealers in the country. So hopefully 2-3 weeks now or less.

Glad to hear you have a TPW. I had a chance to speak with Joe B. today on the phone about this whole situation. Super guy by the way - honest and a pleasure to talk with. That being said, there is no magic here and no strings to pull. Its all about allocations, constraints and shutdowns. None of those are in a good place right now. Sucks, but it is what it is.

Ill just have to sit tight and hope for the best....

I checked in with Joe early this morning and mine had not been built - there's always the possibility it was today, but I'm not planning on checking in again until Tuesday. Then, as much as I'd like to claim I am patient, I will probably check every day after that until I get a 3800
