LT1 clean side separator delete
The factory clean side separator connects the two valve covers, and has a hose to the air intake tube. I'm curious the ramifications of removing the hose entirely from the intake hose, and calling the middle port on the separator. The hoses from the valve covers would remain in place.
I have the elite engineering catch can which ties into the intake pipe. I'm still getting quite a bit of oil in the intake and it's coming from the sump in the air intake hose, which is now connected to the elite engineering oil fill cap. This is their clean side system, I want to get rid of that, and replace the intake tube with something custom. Seeing as the catch can connecting to the intake tube is supposed to make the catch can work 100% of the time, how important is that clean side tube? |

The clean-side feeds fresh air to the engine and PCV system. Removing the line and plugging the box will essentially disable the PCV system. I wouldn’t recommend that you do that.
Not that it matters but it looks like you have a Mishimoto can rather than an Elite can. If you think you’re getting excessive oil in the intake then maybe check the can to see if it is working correctly. Or contact Mishimoto to see if they have any recommendations. |

Something has to be wrong then if it's pushing oil into that sump. I know at idle there is a vacuum in the crankcase, the catch can is supposed to make the PVC system work at wide open throttle too, but maybe there's an issue there somewhere. |
