Finally picked up my new to me 2019 ZL1 1LE

Well after having to wait almost two weeks for new tires I finally picked up my ZL1. It was quite the trip, almost a 14 hour both ways but she's home now.

Its a used manual 2019 ZLE, listed at the price of what non 1LE ZL1s are going for so I jumped on it. Carfax is clean and it has 9000km (6600 miles) on the clock.

Previous owner put on PPF and ceramic as well as a Borla ATAK. I also found a Roto Fab CAI under the hood when I went to throw on the battery tender.

Love the car, I owned a 2016 Camaro in the past so there wasn't anything new to familiarize myself with.

It has all the options I'd pick myself if I was ordering new (PDR, carbon dash, red seat belts and of course the 1LE package). Unfortunately the car is black, I'd personally probably choose Red Hot but I guess I can always wrap it. Still debating on that, I'll probably get a quote and go from there.

Looking forward to being back on the forums.

Congrats OP!

Highly recommend a Katech Ported Throttle Body (easy to install). It will cure the off line bog/hesitation with our cars. Our original throttle bodies are the same as what GM uses on on their trucks....

I would also swap out the stock GY3R tires for something streetable like Michelin PS4S or Continental as it makes a big difference on the street.

Save the stock GY3R tires only for track days. The GY3R tires need 3 heat cycles before they can hook properly.

I'm wondering if there's already a ported throttle body then because I don't feel any hesitation off the line on tip in, unlike my Z06 which does what your describing. In fact I just assumed ZL1s didn't have the issue since I didn't experience any off the line bog.

I've already looked at tires and between the 4S and Conti's I may go 4S. Bit more expensive but in the grand scheme the price difference is negligible.

Which continentals did you put on? Also how do they handle in the summer and cold? Any concerns?

Yup the prices are nutty, I'm sure they may take a little dip when the C8 Z06 is announced but I doubt that will last long.

A ZL1 non 1LE is a good alternative to a C7 Z06 (and a hell of a lot cheaper) which is why I wanted the 1LE package to differentiate the two cars otherwise I'd just end up driving the Z06 all the time.
