Yeah. Only way to remove is to polish and recoat. Some good toppers like Kamikaze OverCoat and Polish angel Cosmic Spritz are suppose to help.

Didn’t have an issue with spots on my last Mustang

Ceramic coating is formulated to bond to clear coat. Coating anything else isn't going to hurt anything, but it's not going to last.

This is exactly why I have shied away from doing ceramic on my vehicles. I had my motorcycle done because it sees far less water then my vehicles. What happens if you are stuck at work and it rains in the AM, then the sun beats on your vehicle the rest of the day? Is that an issue too or is it truly just things like sprinklers and the minerals in the water that cause the issue?

Rain shouldn't be an issue, it is the minerals in the ground water from the sprinklers...

If you get a ceramic coating on your car, how hard is it to remove it?

Great question. It's clear, so I have no idea how you'd know it's fully removed. Ceramic coatings are rated for how long they last. (i.e. 3, 5,7 years) So it eventually wares off. Now if you get a 3 year ceramic but rarely drive your car and keep it in a garage, obviously it will last longer then 3 years. But ya... I'm not sure if you can remove it and how you'd even know it's fully removed.

You definitely can. It has to be polished off.

Great weather today, only got up to 85. Put the top down and enjoyed the ride. Steppenwolf's Born to be Wild came on the radio. The odometer rolled over 64K. Life is good.

Here's the link

Checkout my quick utube link .
It's the day after 8aM in the morning, no sun and the car looks like a mobile mirror. I'm extremely happy. Car, windows, wheels and the calipers were all done with a 5 year warranty!!

Ceramic coating is basically Glass (sio2). Absolutely will work on glass and have decent durability. Except windshield due to wipers.

There are even dedicated glass sio2 coatings. Most likely relabeled coatings.

Most rain won’t leave spots like ground watet unless it has a high mineral content.

Looks great. 90% of the gloss and reflectiveness comes from the preparation of the paint (correcting and polishing). The Ceramic coating is a pretty cherry on top.

The only thing about a 5 year coating is you most likely will want to correct black paint in a couple of years due to swirls and marring. Unless the warranty covers that which i’ve never seen.

She looks good though. Nothing as pretty as a freshly polished and coated black car.

I contacted the manufacturer of the ceramic coating that was put on my bike because it was put on every part of my bike. Plastic, Plexiglass windshield, etc... I mainly contacted them because part of my bike is demin paint and I wanted to be sure it wouldn't leave it shiny. That is why I posted what I did. There exact response was that it is perfectly fine to put it on everything, but it's formulated to bond to clear coat, so all though you can put it on everything, depending on the surface it won't last long. Their words... Not mind...

If I decide to ceramic coat my car, it will also get put on everything since it won't hurt anything.
