Question Flashing\Rebooting Dash

Over the weekend, my dash ('21 SS) started 'rebooting' every few minutes. Not the infotainment center, just the dash\gauges. Doesn't affect drivability really, but it does seem to dump it into Tour mode.

I thought back to other threads (regarding different electrical issues) that recommended disconnecting the battery for a bit. I did that, 20 minutes, but it didn't help in this case.

I saw some old threads about the dealership having to replace a module (i have an appt scheduled for next week).

I was wondering if there is any new information anyone had come across, or any other insight?

Thanks

Travis

My V6 did this but it happened very seldom, like once every 2 or 3 months then everything was fine again. Sounds like yours just started happening but is happening frequently, like multiple times a day kind of frequently.. ..given you have a 2021.. I would be recording this behavior with my cell phone and rushing it to the dealer.

I have an older Jeep that does something similar and I am 100% sure it's the ignition switch. Unfortunately in my case, replacement switched fry in a year or less.

They all do that...

Take it to the dealer and get it fixed.

My 21ss did the very same thing. It was the range device plugged into the odb port causing it. Had it reprogrammed and tried the range device again. 2 weeks later it was doing it again. Unplugged the device and the problem went away and hasn't returned. There is a service bulletin for the issue.

This has happened to my car as well. If your car is stock and this is happening; this is a known issue with a TSB issued.
Bulletin Title: #21-NA-054 - Instrument Cluster Resets, Center Display Goes Blank or Gauges Inoperative - (Jun 1, 2021)
Document ID#5756501

The fix is first a software update that the dealer does and if/when that doesn't help they will replace the gauge cluster. I'm having mine covered under warranty when the part comes in.

I've had a Range AFM Delete device plugged into my 2020 2SS for a year without a single issue...

I had something like this happen to my Dodge Durango, after an accident when it was repaired they forgot to put the grounding wire back on fully… so maybe you should have that checked too.

Great info, thanks! Mine is completely stock, so hopefully this is it.

My car will be 2 years old in October. I have had the Range device installed the entire time with zero issues.
