What is "3M Door Protection"? I would be curious to know if they're 'pre-applying' the 3M material from the TSB between the door and door jamb and charging you for it. lol

Sure sounds that way. I contacted a dealer on a new 2021 Camaro 1SS that was listed at MSRP, I asked to confirm the price and the guy came back that the car was $48,000. I said so it’s actually a $5,000 markup and the guy says no that it’s $5,000 in upgrade’s on the car including leather. I told the guy that all of the pictures of the car has cloth interior, and thus asked him for pics of the leather interior just to troll him. He went from contacting me twice a day to never heard from him again.

Watch and make sure they don't try and charge $200 for pinstriping. A few years back went looking at new cars. Every car on the lot had a tint and pinstripe add on sticker. I would not want the stripes but the vehicle I was looking at did not have the stripes on it. Asked the salesman where was the pin striping. His reply, "They are on the car. They are just clear coated stripes."

That was it for me. About a two years ago, wife wanted to look at a new Nissan Maxima. Sutherlin Nissan in Fort Myers, FL., had a add on sticker with the tint, nitrogen paint/fabric protector, dealer fee, and some sort of Environmental Fee. It was either $3995 or $4995 additional to the price of the car.

LMAO! I would have spit coffee in the sales person's face with a comment like that!

I bought Husky Weatherbeater mats for my car for under $100. Better fit than the Weathertech in every single car out there (EVERY front passenger mat they make doesn't fit right).

Speaking of pinstripes….when I was looking at a Subaru SUV, was at a dealer that did the pinstripe on every car, with the manufacturer logo in the stripe just in front of the door. Every Subaru on their lot had the Hyundai logo in the stripe. Needless to say, I bought mine elsewhere.

Also made it very clear to when I placed my Camaro order that I will not be paying 600 extra for their tint and nitrogen package, or any extra fees or markups. In fact, I told them to do the bare minimum to make it legal to drive home, don’t even wash it so I can avoid the dealer installed swirl option….

Nice thing about being able to order and wait!

I'd definitely find a new dealer as well. Before I left, though, I'd happily see if I could get them on video admitting that they're adding costs onto the car for items that are already included in the price from the manufacturer. I wonder how the General Manager would want to handle that.... Hmmm...
