Normally, it does. But runflat needs have overridden at least part of that general assumption.

I have to wonder (since both are runflats) if it simply comes down to tire design, construction, etc...like I was mentioning before.

They say to go no more tan 3% from factory tire height. Factory is 27.7"

Profile is actually an element of tire design, so yes.

3% is more about differences between front and rear tire heights (revolutions per mile, actually). You want to keep any front to rear differences in revs/mile within 3% of OE for your car. IOW, avoid big changes in the amount of any tire "stagger" that your car came with, or add much stagger to a car that came "square".

Exactly, it's about front to rear difference and not absolute height to keep Stabilitrak and ABS happy.

On the other hand, large changes to the latter can mess up the speedo to an extent best not ignored, so one may want to at least adjust the tune in that case.

Appreciate your input.

A few things here:
1) Beautiful car
2) squared up with spacers?

3) offset on your wheels?

Thank you. No spacers. Only the front right rubs when making a hard left turn at speed. Offset is 40mm

While I love the look of the 20" wheels, I think 19 would be the sweet spot as a balance between style and ride/performance.

As for the Brembo brakes, the SS front Brembos definitely fit inside the 18" rims. They aren't very huge. Not sure about the SS 1LE brakes or any flavor of ZL1 brakes though.

Any 6th generation wheel, 18" or otherwise, will fit on the 1LE or ZL1 with 6-piston Brembos.

Here is a good calculator for comparing tire size:

https://tiresize.com/calculator/

Stock SS tire size:
245-40-20
275-35-20

I upped the rears to 285-35-20 when I got my first replacements. I did not like that the rear overall height was slightly less than the front. It looked off to me. With the 285 on the back they are slightly taller than the front. No issues with Stabilitrak and ABS.

My '18 Tahoe came stock with GM 22" wheels. 20" would probably ride a bit better, but the 22" stock GM wheels look really nice on it.

And consider 19 and 18 inch setups are lighter, reduce unsprung weight, improving steering responsiveness and acceleration. Chevy went with 19s as i remember with the ZL1 1LE, the ultimate track Camaro.

Physics.
