Post Twin Turbo Build Inquiry

Hello this will be my first time ever modding a vehicle this heavily. Going twins on my ZL1 I wanted some tips/advice on my parts choice for going a turbo build on stock block/heads.

Turbo kit here: https://www.hellionpowersystems.com/...-turbo-system/

Intake manifold: https://treperformance.com/i-2389933...iABEgK62PD_BwE

Will this cam spec be fine for a turbo build and for stock engine components?

Haven’t decided if I want to stay DI or go PORT, being in Alaska doesn’t help as no local tuners or reputable auto shops.

The Hellion kit doesn't come with it's own intake manifold?

No to the Hellion and No to the TSP cam kit

I would go with the Huron speed mid mount.

The cam would kit come from Cam motion.

For the intake manifold you have a couple options. Frankenstein, Tre, and Procharger.

My power goal is around 800 - 900. No more than 950.

I live in Anchorage, AK here we salt & gravel the roads. I don’t want my Turbos down low to be affected by those elements. We also got some shitty uneven roads & pot holes, wouldn’t wanna damage them down there. I would love to go bottom mount turbos due to heat, but I wanna keep up safe with top mounted.

What Cam spec would you recommend? Just looking for the extra fuel lobe & mild chop, don’t want huge surging or bad drivability. Also isn’t a max effort build trying for 800~900 hp keeping it a street car.

Going to be hard to find a place on the Glenn or Seward highway to open that thing up. And with the cooler weather you will most definitely need some extra sticky soft tires to keep from roasting them below 60-70 mph

That cam is, not the best choice... Unless you are porting your heads, that is a lot of lift for very little gain (Stock LT1 and LT4 heads don't flow much more past .550 lift, in fact they only see an increase of 10 cfm from .500 to .550, and less from there) This will lead to beating the hell out of the valve train for no reason. Also the duration is high enough to affect low speed characteristics of the motor. That cam would work better in H/C/I car imo. I also agree with KingLT1, Cam motion has better cams for your application.

With that in mind with stock heads, which of these cam specs would you recommend? I have no clue how cam spec ratios work. I just want a cam to help with the higher fuel lobe %.

The 224/230 115 or 227/233 115 would be my choices. I wouldn't go larger unless you plan on going with a larger stall converter.

Is there a reason for going turbos? Staying with a SC would be a lot easier and most likely more plug and play for the power levels your looking for. IE out the box tunes, install, etc
