That 572 should have way more than 430HP. The 427 beats it by 40. That’s A LOT of c.i. You’re wasting in my opinion. I’d imagine they could pull off about 725 NA HP with that. But excellent cars no doubt

I’d bet that by the time it gets to production there’s a lot more there than 430. I agree seems like a ton of lost potential.

It's been adjusted for the NHRA rules or something, just a bit of a de-tune on the engine is what I read.

It’s just the NHRA horsepower rating, the apply some kind of factor to it and it’s not close to the actual horsepower produced.
https://www.motortrend.com/how-to/16...ro-ls7-engine/ “Straight from GM, the COPO LS7 is no ordinary LS7. Although GM’s official horsepower rating of 425 is supposed to make people feel all nostalgic, the figure is completely bogus. “The 427 big-block in the original 1969 COPO Camaro was rated at 425 horsepower. That rating was legit, and after blueprinting the motor and bumping up the compression ratio, they made 575-600 hp,” Judson explains. “Today it’s different. GM just dreams these hp numbers up. The COPO LS7 is rated at the same 425 hp as the original ’69 COPO Camaro, but it actually makes 730-740 horsepower straight from GM.”” |

The “race” one which I can’t imagine not being used is rated at 720hp. If the 427 and supercharged 350 are rated where they are and putting the times down that they are, can you imagine what this beast would do?

With the Efi I’m thinking it could easily be 850-900+ but the torque is gonna be insane

It would yes. Question is how will you make it run with the car? It’s not plug n play lol. Lotta money. But you can!
Thanks for setting the record straight on the 572 guys. I figured something seemed off on those HP numbers.

That 430 is the nhra class rating. Should be minimum of around 800 HP. Possibly 850 maybe even 900?

I would put all the sensors on it from the LS and have the intake drilled for port injection and use a 4 barrel throttle body or one of those new big single blade throttle bodies that fits on a 4 barrel intake. And then I would find a way to make a distributor-less engine out of it and mount the coil packs on and run it with coil on plug like the LS. Of course you would have to change out the injectors and fuel pump for it to actually run. Anyway that's what I would try to do 😄

And I don’t know NHRA classification. Just seemed off that a bigger engine was producing less HP….
