I've tightened my drivers side strut endlink nut twice now and the sound comes back after a few days each time. I'm going to purchase the nut suggested by carguy55, 11548382.
This got me thinking, maybe I'm doing something wrong. Do I need to torque this while the suspension is under load? |

No, this should not be necessary. This is a ball joint stud, and as such it is free to rotate within it's socket in the link. Therefore, it doesn't bind like bonded-rubber axial bushings, so it doesn't matter what ride height the suspension is at when you tighten the nuts.
