I'm not brand loyal at all anymore. All brands have some good vehicles and some garbage. I wouldn't own any FCA products other than their RAM trucks, the Charger, Challenger, and Durango. Those are well known good quality products based on my experience of ownership.
Yea you know what they say about opinions? They are just like a$$ holes we all have them. My opinion is based on my personal ownership of a Dodge product and it was garbage. Mopar = Junk

Like you said opinion vary but based on Dodge sales, if they were junk, they wouldn't be outselling the Ford and GM.

I agree with you here but when it did change it didn't look like anything else, this time it's different.

Not sure cars can continue to look completely original forever, there's only so many design choices you can make before it looks like something else.

Port injected is nice but those are boat cars.

Why can't someone produce a 700 hp 3000 lb Porsche beater <$70k, it would sell like crazy.

Lotus is moving in the right direction

would it work to sell the Camaro now to cash in on the high values, and then order a C8, hopefully paying MSRP when it arrives?

A recent article from MotorTrend said that with the extremely high demand for the current base model C8, Chevy is reportedly uninterested in expediting creation of the C8 Z06 or ZR1 optioned models. They said the non-base models may be available in 2023 but not likely sooner, since Chevy wants to maximize their return on filling demand for the C8 base model.

Sure if you don't mind the wait and assuming you have a dealer you can trust not to jack the price up when it arrives

Well, I have both. And I paid MSRP for my C8 but to do that I had to wait 14 months to get the car.

Which is the better car, Sorry gang, I have to say the C8. The technology, the handling, the driving experience is far superior to my ZL1.

GM invested millions if not billions into the development of the mid-engine Corvette so it damn well better be superior to the ZL1.

Going between the two cars, the ZL1 with it’s big front-end can feel like you’re driving a school bus. The Corvette is nimble and quick. There’s no rear-end wiggle on hard acceleration. The ride is smooth with plenty of feedback. I find myself wanting to drive the Corvette all the time.

BUT…and it’s a BIG BUT. There are two reasons I keep the ZL1. Number one, it’s an m6. Not ready to give up a manual transmission any time soon. And two, the supercharged engine. You can’t beat the aceleration when jamming air into the cylinders. I tell people, the C8 has yet to scare me. It’s aceleration is so linear and smooth. With 60% of the weight behind you, the rear-end is so planted. On the other hand, the ZL1 can occasionally make my butt pucker from the sheer force of it’s acceleartion. Stomp on the gas and hold on!

All I can say is I’m blessed to be able to own both Chevy performance cars. They both represent their segment of the market very well. But there’s no question in my mind the C8 is the better car between the two.

For mountain roads I'm sure that's true, but it's also considerably more expensive, especially optioned out

The Camaro is more of a good (not great) handling freeway brawler, most people recognize this - if you want a sweet handling track or mountain road weapon, you buy a used GT3, which, sorry to say, is still going to wipe the floor with your C8 and look better doing it

Vettes will always have the middle-aged-guy-with-a-paunch stigma, the C8 looks like a cheap Ferrari knock off (just the reality, no offense), and NO ONE will play with you in a vette except an occasional modded Mustang, etc. I get 370Zs and M3s wanting to play with me every time I take the car out and it's non stop entertainment

ZL1 is the king of smiles for the dollar right now. If I had to buy a vette it would be a C7 Z06 with a manual

I think the difference between the ZL1 and ZLE is similar.

The C8 could probably get there with better suspension and more rubber, but yes the Ring rewards hp

Good thing no one values your opinion.

It's kinda unfair to compare the ZL1 to the GT3 but the ZL1 holds its own better than almost any American car in history.
That's a 7 and a half minute lap with a lot.of straights. Who here actually races on the ring? Anyone? Nope. On a smaller, tighter course, I'd put the C8 Z51 with high wing option with track tires up against any version of the ZL1 and it will be very close. The difference though is that the C8 feels more predictable at it's limits which means that the average driver will feel more confident pushing it hard.
