Part Help
Maby some of my peeps can guide me to a part number and source to purchase the plastic below the steering wheel. I have no idea what its called to even search it. Driver side lower dash trim panel?
Thanks Attached Images Here a little more info on my project. I am going to try to install this Home-link transmitter for garage doors in the dash part i am asking about but, i would rather cut on a spare part rather than my factory part in case i screw it up Attached Images

Why would you screw it up. Use tape and mark the proper size hole and use a dremel. I still can't understand why they got rid of homelink.

I agree on the tape but dremels like to walk. I’d use a sharp drill bit if it’s a small hole and if it’s above 1/8” I might even feel compelled to centerdrill it first.

I think this part is the knee bolster described here: https://www.gmpartsdirect.com/oem-pa...lster-84105697

If your worried about the dremel walking do it the old way. Take piece of paper proper size hole on paper so the switch fits nice/tight. Use cut paper to transfer hole shape and size to plastic panel, mark using regular pencil just incase you need to move it. Drill a bunch of holes all the way around the cut lines. Then take new razor blade and cut from hole to hole. Then once the center chunk is cut out take razor blade and clean up the edges. Also if you cut it to small you can slice each side till it fits. Lots less chance of making it to big this way
